EA Hotel Tosca Overview

You know what struck me first about EA Hotel Tosca? It’s tucked away on Blanická street in this really lovely residential part of Vinohrady, and honestly, most tourists never venture this way – which is exactly why I loved it. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, you know, the kind with those beautiful old facades that make you feel like you’re actually living in the city rather than just passing through as another tourist. When I walked in, the lobby was smaller than I expected but in a good way – intimate, I guess you’d call it. The staff actually remembered my name by day two, which doesn’t happen at those massive chain places in Wenceslas Square.

The rooms are what I’d call “smart small” – they’ve really thought about how to use the space without making it feel cramped. My room faced the courtyard (ask for one if you can), so it was surprisingly quiet even though you’re still in the city. The bathroom was recently renovated, I could tell, and had one of those rain showers that actually works properly. What I really appreciated were the little touches that show someone’s paying attention – good reading lights by the bed, enough outlets for all your devices, and windows that actually open wide (trust me, this matters in Prague summers). The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which isn’t always a given in these older places.

Location-wise, this is where the hotel really shines, though you might not realize it at first glance. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Old Town Square, but you’re a five-minute walk to Náměstí Míru metro station, which gets you anywhere you need to go. More importantly, you’re in the heart of Vinohrady, which means you’re surrounded by the cafes and restaurants where actual Praguers hang out. There’s this fantastic little wine bar called Vinárna U Fleku just around the corner – not the touristy one near the castle, this is the local spot. And honestly, after spending days dodging crowds in the historic center, coming back to this quieter neighborhood felt like a genuine refuge. The tree-lined streets are perfect for evening walks, and there’s a great farmers market on Saturdays just a few blocks away. I mean, it’s still Prague so you’ll hear some street noise, but nothing like the constant bustle you get staying right in the tourist zone. For a 3-star place, they really punch above their weight – the 8.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there.

To book a hotel in Prague during the famous Easter Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

The reception at Tosca EA Hotel was excellent, and the room was spacious and clean. The housekeeping service was impeccable. Located in a vibrant creative district, the hotel is surrounded by all-day restaurants and popular spots like Coffee Nerd and a famous Greek bakery, making it a fantastic place to stay.

What could be improved: Services & friendly

  • Nice hotel for the discreet stay in a calm center city area to dive into the city life of Prague! – Paul from Germany – 17 August 2024 (9/10)

I liked location very much! Good that I could walk to the city center, but if needed there is tram, metro and main train station. Very calm neighbourhood and hotel is in an old (historic?) house with a good solid feeling. Good view from a window into the garden. Room was big with cozy reading lights and good clean bathroom. Also plenty of storage, if you go to Prague for several days and need to store things I would recommend this hotel, there is an elevator and good reception area, enough space to make a meeting or to wait for someone. Also the hotel is a dog friendly, but the cleaning (per day?) fee is around 17 euro.

What could be improved: In our room there was no air conditioning, usually I don't use it, so I try to open windows, but it was too warm this time on our planet and was hard to ventilate-cool the room.
P.S. Information about amount of the dog fee / cleaning fee was not written anywhere.

  • Very good – Konstantina from Austria – 11 August 2024 (8/10)

The location was superb! Just in the right distance of everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

  • Superb – Zhansaya from Kazakhstan – 22 July 2024 (9/10)

  • It was very nice and pleasant time in Esca hotel, close to both metro station and tram/bus stop. – Krzysztof from United Kingdom – 17 June 2024 (9/10)

It was really nice room, clean and tidy. Set of fresh towels on arrival, tidy wardrobe is really good addition when it comes to longer stays. It's around 200 meters from Metro station, which is making it greatly connected with nearly every place in Prague. On top of that there's few bus and tram stops nearby. 24/7 grocery store around the corner, and few restaurants and pubs around make it easy if you have no time to go in to city centre for quick lunch or dinner. Great place to stay.

What could be improved: No shower gel/shampoo in toilet.
No water or kettle in hotel room.
I was losing wi-fi connection in some places in room, it was going really 'low' on signal.

  • Good hotel in the centre – Kateryna from Ukraine – 14 June 2024 (9/10)

Nice hotel in the center of Prague – 2 minutes from Peace Square. Good transport links. There is good Wi-Fi in the room. There is a hairdryer and bath amenities. Friendly staff.

What could be improved: On the 4th floor it was stuffy in the room – i had to keep the window open, and there were tram tracks on the street under the windows and this made it a little noisy. There is no outlet near the bed, except for the one where the sconce was plugged in.

  • Friendly and helpful stay. Great location. – Jacky from New Zealand – 26 May 2024 (9/10)

Great location with metro and trams close
    Beds super comfy
