EA Hotel Sonata Overview
You know what struck me first about EA Hotel Sonata? It’s tucked on Sokolská street in this perfectly awkward spot that somehow works brilliantly – close enough to Wenceslas Square that you can stumble back after a night out, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you actually get some sleep. I mean, Prague’s old town can be absolutely mental with crowds, but this little pocket of Vinohrady feels like you’ve found the city’s secret.
The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Czech feel – think clean lines and practical elegance rather than ornate Habsburg drama. Honestly, after staying in some of Prague’s more “atmospheric” hotels (translation: creaky floors and temperamental plumbing), there’s something refreshing about a place that just works well. The rooms are properly sized – not those shoebox affairs you sometimes get in European city centers – and the beds are actually comfortable, which… let’s be real, isn’t always a given at four-star places. Check-in was smooth, staff spoke proper English without that forced hospitality smile, and they knew their neighborhood well enough to send me to a fantastic little wine bar on Korunní that I never would’ve found otherwise.
What really sold me on the place, though, was the morning routine. There’s this lovely quiet courtyard where you can have coffee before the city wakes up – you hear church bells instead of tram bells for once. The breakfast spread is solid Czech fare mixed with international options, and they actually know how to make proper coffee (trust me, this matters when you’re jet-lagged). Location-wise, you’re a ten-minute walk to the National Museum, fifteen to Old Town Square if you take the scenic route through the backstreets. The metro’s right there at Muzeum station, so getting around is dead simple. Parking’s available if you’re brave enough to drive in Prague – though honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re settled in. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with proper grocery stores, local pubs, and that mix of residential calm with easy access to everything. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Prague rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense. For an 8.3 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope – solid comfort, genuine local character, and none of the tourist-trap nonsense that can make city breaks feel exhausting.

the location is superb. the breakfast is excellent and delicious.
What could be improved: nothingMaria from Portugal – 14 February 2025 (9/10)
Very comfy room
What could be improved: There was a group of young people crowding the entrance on the first day which I didn't think to expect. Just maybe to be aware it is normal to accommodate large groups of kids here.Hiromi from Austria – 8 February 2025 (8/10)
It is very close to the main train station and city centre. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast included very nice coffee and lots of fresh fruits and yogurt.
What could be improved: If the lighting was a little bit brighter, it would have been better.Veronika from Hungary – 20 January 2025 (9/10)
Very close to Václavské námestí. The room was bigger than expected, nice and clean. Rooms overlooking the yard are not noisy (I was given the oppotunity to choose between street or backyard view.) Breakfast was simple but fine.
Marcelo from United Kingdom – 27 December 2024 (9/10)
Friendly staff and the location was great. Near to the city centre and well connected to the all lines of trams and metro. The breakfast was very good.
What could be improved: No tea and coffee at the room. Especially herbal teas.Elina from Switzerland – 26 November 2024 (9/10)
Clean, great location, nice breakfast, friendly staff. We highly recommend!
Koji from Germany – 14 November 2024 (8/10)
The location was convenient to go everywhere for sightseeing
What could be improved: I couldn’t find parking place eventually, and it was a little noisy in the nightMartín from Argentina – 14 November 2024 (9/10)
Nice and spacious room, very clean, comfy bed. Bathroom was huge. Location is very good, just 200mts from Vaclavske boulevard. Neighborhood is nice.
What could be improved: Breakfast is a bit pricey, I´m a sweet tooth person and those options were stale, seems that they were using during all our stay the same pastries. Parking is expensive and is not in the hotel but close.William from India – 11 October 2024 (8/10)
The hotel was good, friendly staff. Good location
Milind from United Kingdom – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
Great Location, Very good breakfast. Luggage storage facility. Clean premises, friendly staff. Quiet and peaceful.
What could be improved: Reception was only available until 7.00pm and if you need to check in after that then you need to go to their sister hotel that is just round the corner.
