Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to EA Hotel Jeleni Dvur Prague Castle, you immediately notice how it feels tucked away from the tourist chaos — even though you’re literally steps from Prague Castle. The building has this understated charm that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciated after dealing with the crowds at the castle gates. It’s one of those places where you think “how did I not know about this spot?” The entrance feels almost residential, like you’re staying at someone’s well-appointed home rather than a typical hotel.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what the guidebooks won’t tell you about staying this close to Prague Castle — you can walk there before the tour groups arrive. I mean, you’re talking about a two-minute stroll to one of Europe’s most visited attractions, but somehow this three-star hotel sits on a quiet street that most tourists never discover. The couples who rave about this place (and honestly, there are a lot of them) get it — you can have a romantic evening walk through the castle grounds after everyone else has left. Plus, you’re in Hradčany, which means you’re surrounded by those narrow cobblestone streets and baroque buildings that make Prague feel magical.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in wasn’t trying to be something it wasn’t — clean, comfortable, with enough space to actually unpack your suitcase. You know what I loved? The windows. They’re these tall, traditional European windows that let in so much light during the day. The furnishings are simple but well-chosen, and the bathroom was modern enough that I didn’t feel like I was roughing it. It’s not going to win any design awards, but after a long day exploring the city, it felt like exactly what I needed.

Practical Perks

The staff here actually knows the neighborhood — and I don’t mean they just hand you a tourist map. When I asked about parking (because driving in Prague’s old town is basically a nightmare), they had real solutions and alternatives. They also pointed me toward a local restaurant that wasn’t in any of my guidebooks but served some of the best goulash I had during my entire stay. These are the kinds of insider tips that make a difference when you’re trying to experience Prague like someone who actually lives there, not just passing through.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to pamper you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service. What it does do is put you in an incredible location without the premium prices you’d pay at the hotels right in Old Town Square. The recent guests who rate this place highly seem to get that — they’re looking for a solid base to explore from, not a resort experience. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying in this quiet corner of Hradčany, being able to wander the castle grounds at sunset, then retreat to your own peaceful spot away from the crowds.

A good value

Location. It’s one team stop (or just walking) from the castle , and the same tram brings you downtown in 10 min.

What could be improved: The bed was squeezed in a den that was exactly as wide as the bed, so one has to climb into the bed from the feet side, and there were no night lights, nightstands or even power outlets near the bed.
If you want tee of coffee you have to rent a kettle for $15 a day
They had a full size tub, which was nice, but the stopper did not work.

What could be improved: It was a little bit cold in the living room. Bathroom had floor heating though which was amazing.
