EA Hotel Jeleni Dvur Prague Castle Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to EA Hotel Jeleni Dvur, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those assumptions bite you in the ass. This little gem sits right on Jelení street, and I mean *right* below Prague Castle – like, you can practically touch the castle walls from some windows. The building itself has this quietly elegant thing going on, sort of understated in that way Czech properties do so well. It’s not trying to be flashy, which I actually appreciated after staying at some over-the-top places in Wenceslas Square that felt like tourist traps.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Jewish Quarter without dealing with the tourist hordes, the front desk guy – Pavel, I think? – gave me this route through Kampa Island that I never would’ve found on my own. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works (which, honestly, isn’t always a given in Prague’s older hotels). Mine overlooked this quiet courtyard, so no street noise, but if you’re hoping for castle views, you’ll need to specifically request it and probably pay a bit extra. The breakfast was… well, it’s hotel breakfast, but they had proper Czech pastries and decent coffee, plus some local touches you don’t see at the chain places.
Here’s the thing though – the location is both a blessing and a bit of a challenge. You’re walking distance from everything that matters: St. Vitus Cathedral is literally a five-minute stroll, and you can wander down to Lesser Town through these gorgeous narrow streets that most tourists miss completely. But getting there with luggage? That’s another story. The tram stops aren’t exactly next door, and if you’re coming from the airport, just spring for a taxi because dragging suitcases up those cobblestone hills will kill you. Parking is… well, it exists, but it’s Prague Castle area parking, so manage your expectations. I ended up leaving my rental car at a lot near Petřin Hill and walking – probably the smartest move I made that trip. The 7.5 rating feels about right to me; it’s not going to blow you away, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. Plus, there’s something kind of magical about having your morning coffee while looking up at one of Europe’s most iconic castles, even if the hotel itself is more “comfortable and reliable” than “Instagram-worthy luxury.”

Reviews of EA Hotel Jeleni Dvur Prague Castle
A good value – Igor from United States – 12 May 2025 (7/10)
Location. It’s one team stop (or just walking) from the castle , and the same tram brings you downtown in 10 min.
What could be improved: The bed was squeezed in a den that was exactly as wide as the bed, so one has to climb into the bed from the feet side, and there were no night lights, nightstands or even power outlets near the bed.
If you want tee of coffee you have to rent a kettle for $15 a day
They had a full size tub, which was nice, but the stopper did not work.Good – Shinji from Japan – 20 March 2025 (7/10)
nice location, easy to go to the castle and the bridge. and nice breakfast.

Superb – Zlatkovic from Serbia – 10 June 2024 (9/10)
Hotel is old but is nice and on the good place. Breakfast is good. Staff is polite and ready to help. Room is clean.
What could be improved: Curtain is needed for bathroom around the bathtub because the floor is flooded by water after bathing and there is no drain. Curtain on the window is old, slightly dirty and don't cover enough…Young lady on the reception need to better know English language. One polite recommendation: replace the carpet on the first floor, because it is not very representative when you see worn carpet…Very good – Bradley from United Kingdom – 2 May 2024 (8/10)
