Overview

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Dušní Apartments when I first walked up to that narrow building on Dušní street – I mean, it’s tucked between some pretty unremarkable storefronts and honestly looks like just another Prague apartment block from the outside. But here’s the thing about this place that gets me excited: you’re literally a two-minute walk from Old Town Square without paying those insane hotel prices right on the square itself.

The apartments themselves are way better than the 3-star rating suggests – and that 9.2 score makes total sense once you’re inside. Everything feels properly renovated, not just slapped together for tourists. The kitchenettes actually work (I made coffee every morning and it didn’t taste like sadness), and the Wi-Fi is solid enough that I could video call home without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, which is honestly a miracle considering you’re in the absolute heart of everything. The windows must be decent quality because I barely heard the late-night crowds stumbling back from Wenceslas Square. Well, except on Friday nights – but that’s Prague for you.

Here’s what nobody tells you about staying on Dušní: you’re positioned perfectly between the Jewish Quarter and Old Town, so you can walk to the Astronomical Clock before the tour groups swarm it, then duck into the Jewish Museum when you need a break from the chaos. The little grocery store around the corner stays open late (crucial for wine emergencies), and there’s this fantastic traditional Czech restaurant called Lokál just down the street where locals actually eat – not just tourists Instagram-ing their goulash. Parking is going to be a nightmare if you’re driving, but honestly, you won’t need a car from here anyway. The tram stop at Náměstí Republiky is maybe a five-minute walk, and from there you can get anywhere in the city. Check-in was surprisingly smooth too – none of that “meet us at this random location with three different sets of keys” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. They actually have a proper reception area, which felt reassuring after some horror stories I’d heard about Prague apartment stays. If I’m being completely honest, the only downside is that you might get a bit spoiled by the location and struggle to justify staying anywhere else in Prague next time.

An oasis of peace and calm in the middle of Prague. Sleep quality was great and everything was nearby. Would definitely recommend. Loved the balcony.
