Duplex 2 with quiet terrace on Wenceslas Square

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
595 Ve Smečkách 16, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Duplex 2 with quiet terrace on Wenceslas Square, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an apartment rental in such a prime location. But you know what? This place completely surprised me. The duplex layout gives you way more space than your typical Prague hotel room, and that terrace — well, it’s actually quiet despite being right in the thick of everything. I mean, when you’re this close to all the action, you’d expect constant noise, but somehow they’ve managed to create this peaceful little retreat.

Location & Neighborhood

The location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing fluff — this four-star property really is in the heart of Prague. You’re literally steps from Wenceslas Square, which means you can stumble back from dinner without worrying about trams or taxis. What I love about Ve Smečkách street is that it’s close enough to everything but just off the main tourist drag, so you get that local neighborhood feel. The couples who stay here definitely get it — there’s something romantic about having your own private terrace overlooking the city while being able to walk to Prague Castle or the Old Town in minutes.

The Space

The duplex setup is actually pretty clever — you’ve got your living area downstairs and sleeping space upstairs, which makes it feel more like a proper home than a hotel room. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab some Czech beer and cheese from the market and have a quiet night in. That terrace I mentioned? It’s become my favorite spot for morning coffee — you can watch Prague wake up without the chaos of being right on the square itself.

What Makes It Special

Honestly, it’s the combination of space and location that sets this place apart. Most Prague accommodations make you choose — either you’re in a cramped central hotel or you’ve got space but you’re stuck taking trams everywhere. Here, you get both. The quiet terrace is the real winner though — I’ve stayed in plenty of Prague places where “terrace” means a tiny balcony overlooking a busy street. This one actually lives up to the name, and you can sit out there in the evening without feeling like you’re part of the street theater below.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve spent a few nights here. Couples especially seem to appreciate having their own space while being in the center of everything — you can be as social or as private as you want. The fact that you can walk to a restaurant for dinner and then retreat to your own quiet terrace for a nightcap is pretty much the perfect Prague experience. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, just a really solid base for exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.
