Drama Queen in Old Town Prague Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Drama Queen,” I rolled my eyes a bit. But this place on Elišky Krásnohorské actually lives up to its theatrical name in the best possible way. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Spanish Synagogue and about five minutes from that gorgeous Art Nouveau Municipal House where locals still go for proper coffee (not the tourist trap stuff). The building itself has this wonderful old Prague character – you know, those thick walls that keep things cool in summer and the kind of windows that make you want to lean out and people-watch for hours.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend the dramatic theme without making it feel like you’re sleeping in a theater prop room. The rooms have these rich, moody colors and vintage touches that feel sophisticated rather than gimmicky. I mean, sure, there are some bold design choices, but they work – especially when you’re waking up to those Old Town views. The staff actually knows the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this little wine bar on Dušní that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I was looking for a good bookshop, they knew exactly which one I meant before I even finished describing it.

Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. Elišky Krásnohorské is one of those streets that feels authentically Prague – quiet enough that you’re not dealing with constant tour groups, but you can walk to Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes if you want the action. I loved that I could grab fresh bread from the bakery around the corner in the morning, then wander over to the Jewish Quarter without fighting crowds at 8 AM. The trams are close but not so close that you hear them all night, and there’s actually decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in Prague (though honestly, you don’t need to). The whole area comes alive in the evening when locals head out for dinner, but it settles down nicely – no late-night party noise, just the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages on the cobblestones. With an 8.8 rating, it’s clearly not just me who appreciates what they’re doing here. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though you’re right in the heart of one of Europe’s most visited cities.

To book a hotel in Prague during the famous Easter Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

The place was just… GREAT! close to the Spanish Synagogue and Pariska Street for luxury shopping! Central and easy access from Staromestska underground station! My husband just loved his 6 nights on Elisky Krasnohorske!
    Thanks a million

What could be improved: Sometimes we could hear some noise close to our main door in our beautiful bedroom as some cleaning people would wake us up around 6:45 am! and some people dragging some garbage

  • Tamar from Israel – 19 April 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! They thought of every small detail in the design. The location is excellentin the old town and close the river

What could be improved: There are two flights of stairs in order to get to the elevator so it's unsuitable for people who have problems walking. There's a bit of a smell coming from the sewage after using the toilets. We stayed for 5 nights and only got 2 capsules of coffee for two people. other than that everything was perfect!

  • Ash from United Kingdom – 13 March 2024 (9/10)
