Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about DownTown Suites Belohorska? It’s actually not downtown at all – which honestly turned out to be the best surprise. This place sits in a quieter part of Prague’s Smíchov district, and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re close enough to hear the city humming, but far enough out that you can actually sleep with the windows open. The building itself has that understated Czech elegance – nothing flashy, just solid and welcoming in a way that makes you feel like you’ve found something the tour groups haven’t discovered yet.
The suites here are properly spacious, which is rare for European city hotels, and they’ve got this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake. I spent a good chunk of my morning just sitting by the window with coffee, watching locals head to work along Belohorska street. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either – there’s a Tesco about a ten-minute walk away if you want to grab groceries, though honestly, you’re close enough to some fantastic local spots that cooking feels almost wasteful. The staff, well, they actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Petřín Hill, the desk clerk didn’t just point me toward the touristy funicular – she suggested walking up through the back streets near Hunger Wall, which was absolutely the right call.
What really sells this place though is how it sits in the city. You’re a quick tram ride from the castle and Old Town (the 22 tram stops practically at your door), but you’re also walking distance from some of Prague’s best kept secrets. There’s this little wine bar called Vinohradský pivovar about fifteen minutes away that locals actually frequent, and Anděl shopping center is close if you need anything practical. The neighborhood has character – real butcher shops, small cafes where they know your order by day three, that sort of thing. I’d definitely stay here again, partly because the beds are genuinely comfortable and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, but mostly because it feels like staying in Prague rather than just visiting it. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished without being precious, comfortable without trying too hard to impress.
To book a hotel in Prague during the famous Easter Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

What could be improved: Mayby in summer there is no air-conditioning but it is only can affect between 2 – 3 months a year .Ferenc from Hungary – 7 November 2024 (9/10)
Large, clean, new. Lot.of light with big windows and white furnuture. Nice view, nice safe looking neighbourhood with good brunch restaurant a few hundred meters away. The rooms are really large, the bed is the most comfortable possible. Parking is private area, friendly cleaning personnel.
What could be improved: Only missing item was a washing-drying machine. Some of the "two-bedroom" apartments have no separate kitchen/living area. This is different from international standards or nomenclature. It can be either confusing or inconvinient. Please call it either two-room studio or anything else that can differentiate it from typical two bedroooms + american kitchen living room units. Getting in for the first time during night with the (changing?) codes and the online check-in process was challanging and time consuming. Luckily they have a 24h line. Overall it is a good accommodation.
