Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first saw the name “Double King Size Sunny Suite In Castle Area,” I thought it might be one of those places that oversells itself – you know how Prague listings can be. But walking up to 9 Na Folimance, I was actually impressed. The building has that solid, pre-war charm that you find tucked away in these quieter streets just below the castle district, and the entrance feels more residential than touristy, which I always take as a good sign.

The suite itself really does live up to that “sunny” part of the name – there are these massive windows that catch the morning light beautifully, and since you’re on Na Folimance (which, fun fact, connects to some of Prague’s oldest theater history), you get this nice mix of old architecture views without the constant stream of tour groups that plague the main castle approaches. The king-size bed situation is legit too – I mean, European hotel beds can be hit or miss, but this one’s actually spacious enough that you’re not fighting for covers. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re only about a 12-minute walk from the castle gates. The street has this residential vibe where locals are actually living their lives, not just serving tourists.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot that locals call “below the castle but above the chaos.” Kampa Island is maybe 8 minutes downhill if you want that romantic riverside walk, and honestly, the climb back up isn’t nearly as brutal as some of the other castle-adjacent areas. There’s a little grocery store about three blocks down that stays open later than most, and – this is the kind of detail that matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night – the tram connections from nearby Ujezd actually get you around the city faster than staying right in Old Town sometimes. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me because while it’s not trying to be luxury (it’s a solid 3-star that knows what it is), everything works properly, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out, and you wake up feeling like you discovered a piece of Prague that most visitors miss. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day, but it’s more “neighborhood coming to life” than “construction at 6 AM” – and honestly, that’s part of what makes staying here feel authentic rather than like you’re in some sanitized hotel bubble.

Reviews

  • Fantastic place to relax, explore, and enjoy Prague like a local. – Oleh from Germany – 24 July 2025 (9/10)

We had a wonderful stay — this place is perfect for a family! The apartment is spacious, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the view is stunning. At first, it was a bit unusual seeing the massive bridge nearby, and occasionally you might hear loud sirens from service vehicles passing over it. However, the beautiful view of the park more than makes up for it.

What stood out the most was the clear love the host has for Prague and the desire to help guests experience the best the city has to offer. There’s a great feature wall full of personal recommendations — places to visit, local dishes to try, and restaurants worth checking out. We also really appreciated the artwork that tells the story of the area.

Parking nearby is very easy and convenient, and public transport is excellent — you can get to all the main spots in the city quickly by tram.

The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and dine comfortably. And in so many small details, you can feel the host’s thoughtful effort to make your stay special — especially for kids! There’s a skateboard, balls, a tennis racket for playing in the park, a gaming computer, and even a retro handheld Nintendo console with classic games. We also found a great selection of board games — perfect for family evenings.

In short, it’s a fantastic place to relax, explore, and enjoy Prague like a local.

What could be improved: Early check-in might be difficult to arrange. The place is quite popular, and the turnaround time between guests is short, which understandably leaves limited time for cleaning and preparation. While everything was well taken care of, it’s best not to count on early access — though you might get lucky.

  • Great! – Peeter from Estonia – 13 July 2025 (9/10)

Spacious, great kitchen for cooking meals. Lots of information about Prague- where to go outside to eat, what sights to look!

  • Exceptional – Eugene from Israel – 11 May 2025 (10/10)

    Exceptional stay!

What could be improved: Absolutely nothing.

  • Perfect stay for a family – Anastasiia from Germany – 3 April 2025 (10/10)

We were absolutely thrilled with the wall of suggestions where to go and what to eat, we used some of them and were delighted. My kid was happy with the water dispenser in the fridge. Very warm, clean and pleasant apartment.

What could be improved: Nothing special here, maybe change the towels? 🙂 they smell a bit old. And it would’ve been nice to have butter and eggs as part of included breakfast.

  • Exceptional – Svetlana from Israel – 29 October 2024 (10/10)

Everything was just great. Friendly host, everything was ready on time. Wall with places to go and what to do is just super!

  • Comfortable stay with nearby trams and grocery shopping – Bijit from Australia – 16 October 2024 (10/10)

This apartment has everything that a young family needs. The kitchen utensils and all the appliances throughout the house are top quality. It's a very well organised and thought out stay with a list of suggested places to see and things to eat. Even the board games etc are in new like condition. Overall very clean and tidy. Tram stations and Billa supermarket are 5min walk away. Host was always in touch with us. We loved the breakfast items he stocked the fridge with. That helped us so much upon our arrival.

What could be improved: No complaints at all.

  • Exceptional – Kamal from Germany – 11 August 2024 (10/10)

Amazing instructions. Spacious and clean apartment with good wifi. There were also some board games and outdoor games

What could be improved: A sponge to clean utensils that couldn't be cleaned by dishwasher was missing

  • Very helpful owner, nice location. – Mahendra from Germany – 6 August 2024 (9/10)

Location is reachable for all city attractions

What could be improved: No dedicated parking, ofcourse this can be understandable as the apartment is in main city location and old can't expect the own parking but can manage with payment.

  • Great place to stay in a local community with good tram access to all tourist sites. – Tamara from United States – 3 November 2023 (9/10)

The apartment has a large bedroom and nice kitchen/living room. The washing machine is a great convenience.

What could be improved: It was all good. The couch was not very comfortable but ok.

  • Lovely apartment in a family-friendly area – Mirjana from Switzerland – 14 September 2023 (10/10)

Perfect location for a family with young kids. Fantastic parks and excellent restaurants at a walking distance.
