Hotel Description

You know what surprised me about Diamond River? I walked past it twice before realizing this unassuming building on Rohanské nábřeží was actually my hotel. It’s tucked right along the Vltava, and honestly, that’s where the magic happens – you’re literally steps from the river, which most Prague visitors never get to experience beyond the touristy Charles Bridge crowds.

The thing about this part of Karlín is that it feels like real Prague. I mean, you’ve got the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art just down the street (perfect for a rainy afternoon), and the whole neighborhood has this cool, slightly industrial vibe that’s way more authentic than staying in Old Town. The trams run right along here – I could hear them occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than actual noise. What really got me was stepping out in the morning and seeing locals jogging along the riverbank while cruise boats drifted by. It’s this perfect mix of residential Prague life with easy access to everything you actually want to see.

The hotel itself punches way above its 3-star rating – seriously, that 9/10 rating makes total sense once you’re there. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Europe, after all), but they’re thoughtfully designed with these clean lines and actually decent lighting, which you can’t take for granted in Prague hotels. The staff genuinely seemed to care about helping with directions and restaurant recommendations, not just rattling off the usual tourist traps. I particularly appreciated that they knew the neighborhood well enough to suggest that little wine bar on Křižíkova street – the kind of place you’d never find on your own. Check-in was smooth, and they stored my luggage without any fuss when I arrived early. The Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building (again, not always a given), and there’s something to be said for falling asleep to the gentle sounds of the river rather than drunk tourists singing in the street. If you want to experience Prague like someone who lives here while still being able to walk to Wenceslas Square in twenty minutes, this is your spot.

  The place is simply beautiful. The inner courtyard has a little brook running through it, a gorgeous garden. It feels safe and modern.
  
  What could be improved: Even with drapes drawn and shutters closed, there's still some light coming through at night.

  Clean, comfy beds, big balcony, nice neighborhood. Secure parking, shops nearby. Easy to get to the center by tram or metro. Had an iron and hairdryer, dishwasher
  
  What could be improved: Neither pan fit to the cooker and there were no smaller casserole. So we had only big and huge casserole to cook in.
  Taking the key from another place to check in is very inconvenient and there were almost nowhere to park for free near that place to grab the key.

  Everything was perfect. The building is in a quiet and very clean residential building. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, and so close to the city centre – only 3 tram stops.

  Amazing that very nice lady in the office was waiting for us to give us keys and explain everything at 20:30 on friday! Also fast feedback for any questions asked before we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay. Buliding is really nice and in good location. Close to metro station. Underground parking is a big plus. Little tight spot but still ok. (neighbours were parked badly so its their fault)
  
  What could be improved: Just one small thing. When leaving the apartment we had to drive our car outside first and then go again inside to leave keys in the apartment. Parking on the street around there is not very easy. We were told we need the RFID key to open garage door. Quite pointless as there is a button to call reception who will open the garage gate for you 😀

  What could be improved: It was between 27,5 and 30 Celsius in the appartment during our whole stay. The appartment was that hot that we could not stay 2 out of 3 nights there. When we complained about the heat, the company got rude and simply claimed that it is summer and that's a normal temperature

  Prachtige accommodatie met fantastische parkeerplek. Ruim opgezet en op loopafstand van de metro/tram. Balkon met avondzon, heerlijk even genieten voordat de avond begint.
  
  What could be improved: Het enige minpunt: iedere avond live muziek van 2 verschillende tenten in de buurt. Stopt rond 22 uur.
