Deminka Palace Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Deminka Palace? It’s tucked away on this quiet side street – Skretova – that most tourists probably walk right past, but honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from all the Prague Castle madness, but when you step outside in the morning, it’s just… peaceful. No tour groups marching by at 7 AM.
The building itself has this old-world thing going on without feeling like a museum – I’m talking original hardwood floors that actually creak in the right way, and these tall windows that let in crazy good light during the day. The rooms are what I’d call “properly sized” for Europe, which means you’re not bumping into furniture every time you turn around, but don’t expect American hotel sprawl either. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – like, the shower pressure is actually decent (thank god), and they’ve got these thick curtains that block out the streetlights completely. The WiFi works everywhere, even in the elevator, which honestly saved me when I was trying to figure out tram schedules.
Staff-wise, the front desk crew knows their stuff about the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the guy didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps – he actually sketched out a little walking route that took me through some gorgeous residential streets I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, no weird deposit holds or passport drama, and they store luggage after checkout if you’re catching a late flight. The breakfast situation is solid – not Instagram-fancy, but proper Czech pastries and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday. Pro tip: if you’re planning to explore beyond the castle area (which you absolutely should), the 22 tram stop is basically around the corner, and it connects you to the whole city without having to navigate the tourist-packed metro stations near Old Town. September through early November is probably the sweet spot for staying here – the weather’s still decent, but the summer crowds have thinned out, so you can actually enjoy walking around the neighborhood without feeling like you’re in a parade.

The location was perfect, next to the metro and 15 min ish walk into the centre, great location.
I came with two of my friends so the 3 of us all together and there was so much room- we thought we would have to share a bed but we had a bed each and there were 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed! we had the loft room and it was huge, really spacious, could have fit about 8 people in it !
Also brilliant value for money staying so close to the city, really good bars near by and a stone throw away from the museum!
We were really happy with this place and there was a person on reception every time we walked past, they were all really helpful and attentive! We felt comfortable here, location was great, comfy beds and was all round perfect for a city stay hotel! Highly recommend staying here, I would stay here again in the future.
What could be improved: Only nitpicking because I can't really fault the place but the only thing id say is more kitchen ware in the kitchen area, we only had one mug- we didn't cook whilst staying here and probably could have just asked for more mugs at reception but other than that I can't fault the place ! .thank you againAnton from Ukraine – 25 February 2025 (9/10)
I arrived late in the evening , the friendly young guy welcomed me on the reception. the check in proses was quick and easy. the breakfast was quite good with a big chice of food. the room was clean and light.
What could be improved: the noise from the bathroom, the boiler while working made strange noise.Tetiana from Ukraine – 25 February 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was only 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and very handy for a main train station. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Roy who contacted me the day before and arranged a pickup from the airport. The hotel itself was lovely, the room a good size and had everything we needed, including drinks making facilities. I would happily stay there again.

I would like to start with mentioning the fantastic Receptionist Mr. Roy. I can only fall short with the superlatives to his attitude and professionalism, which primed my stay as of the front desk.
The room was spacious, clean and with great amenities.
Location is just Top notch for people willing to enjoy the Czech capital diversity and multi layered experience.
