You know what caught me off guard about Czech Inn? I walked up to this converted townhouse on Francouzska and honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about how they’ve done this whole thing. The entrance feels more like you’re visiting someone’s stylish older brother than checking into a hotel – which, after dealing with Prague’s tourist machine around Old Town, was exactly what I needed.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Prague at all. Francouzska puts you in Vinohrady, which means you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the chaos of Wenceslas Square, but you’re living where actual Czechs live. There’s this great little kavárna two blocks down that does proper Czech breakfast (none of that tourist menu nonsense), and honestly, walking to the Náměstí Míru metro station in the morning feels like you’ve got some secret insider knowledge. The neighborhood gets quiet after 9 PM – I mean really quiet, not that fake quiet where you can still hear drunk tourists stumbling around. You’ll sleep well here.

What really sold me on the place was how they handle the small stuff. Check-in was this refreshingly normal conversation with someone who actually knew the city, not just the hotel handbook. My room was clean in that northern European way where everything just works – the shower had proper pressure, the bed was firm enough, and there was actual storage space for more than just a weekend bag. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but the furniture felt sturdy and the whole vibe was more “comfortable flat” than “budget hotel room.” The WiFi worked everywhere (tested it thoroughly, obviously), and they’ve got this little common area where people actually hang out instead of just walking through. I ended up chatting with this German couple who’d been coming back for three years straight – that tells you something right there.

Look, Prague can be overwhelming with all the castle tours and beer hall madness, but Czech Inn gives you a proper base to actually experience the city instead of just surviving it. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be good at what it does. And honestly? Mission accomplished.

  Everything was as it should be. The hotel was located in a touristic area, so it was quite crowded. It was very difficult to find a parking spot. The hotel staff were friendly, very helpful, and welcomed us warmly. We had a room with clean beds, a private kitchen, and a private bathroom.

  I booked a private room with a private bathroom. It was sparkling clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious. Great cost-benefit balance.

  Staff were very friendly & helpful and really made this place special. Fantastic location in a really cool neighbourhood with lots of bars & cafes. Close to a stunning park and a short tram ride into the old city. The room was spacious with big windows overlooking nice views.

  The room for ladies only is a great thing to have. The location is in the nice and safe area.
