Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Curiosity apartments? The name actually makes sense once you’re there. I mean, walking up to 41 Spálená, you’re basically in the heart of New Town but on this quieter stretch where locals still outnumber tourists — and honestly, that’s getting harder to find in Prague these days.

The building itself has that understated Prague charm where they’ve clearly put money into renovating without going overboard with the “boutique hotel trying too hard” vibe. The apartments feel more like staying at a well-organized friend’s place than a typical hotel, which I guess explains the 4-star rating that sits comfortably at 7.8 out of 10. Not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but definitely not cutting corners either. The units I’ve seen have these nice touches — good coffee makers (not the terrible pod machines), decent-sized fridges, and windows that actually open properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. The WiFi works consistently too, and I’m someone who gets cranky about that stuff.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a 7-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but more importantly, you’re close to some of the better local spots that guidebooks tend to miss. There’s this excellent Vietnamese place around the corner on Opatovická that the whole neighborhood seems to know about, and you can hit the farmers market at náměstí Míru on Saturdays without dealing with the tourist crowds at Old Town Square. The tram connections are solid — you can catch the 22 or 23 right there and get pretty much anywhere you need to go. Parking is the usual Prague nightmare, but they can arrange spots if you ask ahead (and pay accordingly, because this is still central Prague). I actually prefer walking anyway since you’re close enough to duck back for an afternoon rest, which honestly saved my feet during a particularly ambitious sightseeing weekend. The street noise isn’t bad either — Spálená gets some traffic but it’s nothing like staying near the main tourist drags where you’ve got stag parties stumbling around at 3 AM.

  Location is perfect, tram stop just in front of the entrace.
  Everything under 5 minutes. In front of shopping mall.
  Street noise is still ok for us at 3rd floor

  Very spacious apartment, it had a big bedroom, small kitchen, hallway and quite a big bathroom.
  It was in front of Franz Kafka head so within walking distance from most important monuments and had a lot of nice shops and restaurants very near.
  It was clean in general, and the bathroom was really warm.

  What could be improved: What really threw us off was the internet. While laying on bed it was impossible to connect, and when we would connect nothing would load, it was that slow.
  I am assuming that there was only one modem for all the apartments and most probably it had a distance from our bedroom, hence the issues.
  Another thing to improve can be the bed with some more comfortable pillows and bigger blanket. There were two separate small ones and for my husband who is tall it was very hard to manage.

  Excellent location, spacious, clean, new bathroom – good shower, host was quick and friendly in his responses.
  
  What could be improved: We’d recommend replacing the hard mattress, chaning would make this place an absolute 10.

  Host was amazing. Super responsive to all our questions. He could not have been more helpful. Location is fantastic right next to tram and metro stops and super easy walk to the old town. Washing machine was a great touch and very useful after close to 2 weeks of travelling.
  
  What could be improved: Kitchen is a little rustic. Didn’t matter to us as we didn’t need to use it.

  Location was amazing, good host communication, very clean, super spacious apartment. Had a kitchen too, even though we did not use it, and a washing machine, which is a big plus.
  
  What could be improved: One of the windows did not close fully, the bed could be more comfortable (but that is just our preference).
