Cubistic Residence Eliska / Jewish Quarter / Old Town

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
10 Elišky Krásnohorské, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Cubistic Residence Eliska / Jewish Quarter / Old Town, you immediately get that “wow, I’m really in Prague” feeling. The building itself sits right on Elišky Krásnohorské street, and honestly, the location is pretty much unbeatable — you’re literally steps away from both the Jewish Quarter and Old Town Square. I mean, when a place scores 9.6 for location, you know they’re doing something right. The cubistic design elements give it this cool, artistic vibe that feels distinctly Czech without being touristy about it.

The Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the Astronomical Clock without breaking a sweat. The Jewish Quarter is right there, which means you’re surrounded by some incredible history and those beautiful synagogues. But you know what’s really nice? Despite being in the absolute heart of everything, the street itself isn’t completely overrun with tourist crowds. You’ll find little cafes and local spots tucked between the major attractions, and the cobblestone streets actually feel authentic rather than like a theme park.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect blend of modern comfort and old-world charm — think exposed beams but with really good Wi-Fi and a proper shower. The four-star rating feels accurate; it’s not trying to be over-the-top fancy, but everything works well and the beds are genuinely comfortable. The windows open up to views of the historic streets below, and there’s something pretty magical about waking up to church bells and cobblestones. The design keeps that cubistic theme going without being overwhelming about it.

Practical Considerations

Getting around from here is incredibly easy — you can walk pretty much everywhere you’d want to go in the historic center. If you need to venture further out, there are tram stops nearby, though honestly, I barely used public transport during my stay. The staff speaks excellent English and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations, not just the obvious tourist stuff. Parking can be tricky in this area (as it is anywhere in central Prague), but they can help arrange something if you’re driving.

Why Guests Love It

Couples really seem to gravitate toward this place, and I can see why — there’s something inherently romantic about staying in such a historic part of the city. The combination of being able to explore Prague’s most famous sights on foot while having a comfortable, well-designed base to return to hits that sweet spot. You’re not sacrificing location for comfort or vice versa. Plus, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that feels like it belongs in its neighborhood rather than just being dropped there. The whole experience feels authentically Prague, which is exactly what you want when you’re visiting a city this beautiful.

Superb

Beautiful apartment within a 10 minute walk of the Old Town Square. The apartment is also one street over from Pragues most prestigious area lined with high-end stores such as Prada, Chanel, Tiffany ...the list goes on. Great for window shopping if like us these brands are not within your budget!

Most of the places we wanted to visit were within walking distance and the city is so beautiful we would happily have walked miles to take in all the sights, and we did walk miles!

The apartment is really spacious and beautifully appointed with lots of storage and the added bonus of a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

I note another post which complained about the size of the toilet and yes it is very compact however this is just the way the apartment is laid out to maximise the space and the seperate bathroom (with full size bath and seperate shower) feels large and luxurious

The instructions from the host which included photos regarding check in, key location and apartment location were really detailed and we had no issues getting access to the key and the apartment

Also noted is another post about there being washing in the dryer and clothes on the airer on arrival. The same when we arrived which appeared to be bedding and towels I assume from the previous guest. I didnt see an issue with this as the bedding was neatly hung on the dryer and pretty much out of sight. I guess this was all to enable a quick turn around of guests.

What could be improved: The host was very responsive during the booking process and prior to our stay however this wasnt the case when we were coming to the end of our stay. We contacted her to ask about the possibility of a late checkout due to us having an afternoon flight. No response despite her sending us a message after our message to confirm check out time and arrangements for where to leave the key. A follow up message from us again enquiring about late check out also did not get a reply and still havent , 24 hours after arriving home!

An information pack for guests would be really useful to include instructions on the heating controls (we worked it out ourselves in the end), instructions for the oven, washer and dryer and where to take our rubbish. Also a list of emergency contacts for a doctor, hospital, chemist and of course the best way to contact the host to be assured of a prompt response!
