Cozy quiet new apartment in Karlin square Overview
Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Peckova Street, I wasn’t expecting much – the building looks pretty standard from the outside, you know? But once you get inside this apartment, it’s actually got this really nice, fresh vibe that immediately makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in. The whole space feels genuinely new (not just “renovated” new, but actually new), and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t carry the weight of a thousand previous guests.
What really struck me about the location is how quiet Karlin square gets in the evenings, which is sort of surprising given that you’re still properly in Prague. I mean, during the day there’s definitely activity – people heading to work, the occasional tram rumbling by on Sokolovská – but come nighttime, it’s peaceful enough that you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open. The square itself has this lived-in neighborhood feel that’s way more authentic than staying right in the tourist center. You’ve got a decent grocery store just around the corner (honestly, the produce section is better than I expected), and there’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible koláče if you’re into trying local pastries. Walking to Old Town takes maybe 20-25 minutes if you don’t mind the stroll, or you can hop on the metro at Křižíkova station – it’s close enough that you don’t need to check the schedule, just walk over when you’re ready.
The apartment itself has that clean, minimalist thing going on without feeling sterile, which is a tricky balance to get right. Everything works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in vacation rentals), the wifi is solid, and the kitchen actually has real cooking equipment if you want to grab ingredients from that market I mentioned. I particularly appreciated that the host clearly thought about practical details – there are extra towels, the shower has good water pressure, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with a crick in my neck. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers on the basics really well. Plus, there’s something nice about staying in Karlin – it feels like you’re getting a glimpse of how actual Prague residents live, rather than just bouncing between tourist attractions. The whole experience just feels more genuine than most hotel stays, and honestly, that’s worth a lot when you’re trying to get a real sense of a city.

We could highly recommend staying in cozy apartment in Karlin square. The room was very pretty and comfortable. It had all the necessities, maybe I would add kitchen towels, shower gel and tea/coffee capsules (especially since there was coffee machine for capsules, but no coffee capsules).
Exceptional – Henry from Malaysia – 21 November 2024 (10/10)
Amazing comfort and everything works. Great location in Karlin. Near to very good restaurants, late night Asian convenience stores and near to bus stop going directly to Old Town.
Value for money.

Very clean, spacious room. Well furnished, the kitchen is well equipped, incl. the coffee machine (few coffee pods would be nice to find though, but that's not a complaint) 🙂
What could be improved: NothingVery good – Vania from Bulgaria – 29 June 2024 (8/10)
Good location near the central bus station, clear room, easy communication
Ideal! – Attila from Hungary – 21 April 2024 (10/10)
Great location, great accomodation.
Calm, cozy & comfortable with great public transport connections – Marlene from Austria – 10 February 2024 (10/10)
It was very clean, easily reachable from the main train station & well connected to other parts of the city. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the other interior was quite practical to use and have. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a cozy, calm stay in Prague.
What could be improved: There was quite brightly colored lights on the microwave & on the landline in the hallway, so that was a little tricky, but it was easily fixable and nothing that sways our opinion on the stay.
