Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first saw “Cozy Homestay at Prague Main Station” on Bolzanova street, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, being right by a major train station usually screams noise and chaos, right? But you know what, this little 3-star place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you step inside, there’s this genuine homey feeling that’s pretty rare in Prague’s tourist-heavy accommodations. The owners clearly put thought into making it feel like you’re staying with locals rather than just another faceless hotel experience.

What really works here is the location – and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way every hotel claims. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Praha hlavní nádraží, which honestly makes getting anywhere in the city ridiculously easy. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: being on Bolzanova means you’re tucked into this quieter residential pocket where actual Czechs live and work. There’s a fantastic little grocery store around the corner (locals call it “the blue shop” because of its bright signage), and you’ll find yourself walking past the same dog walkers every morning – it feels real, not touristy. The train station noise? Yeah, you’ll hear it occasionally, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything disruptive, especially at night when things quiet down.

The homestay itself has this lived-in charm that grows on you. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the 7.4 rating reflects that it’s solidly good without being spectacular – but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The rooms feel like someone’s well-maintained spare bedroom, complete with those little touches that show someone actually cares: decent coffee in the kitchen area, extra blankets that are actually warm, and surprisingly good water pressure in the showers. I particularly loved how quiet it gets in the evenings, when you can hear the city settling down through the windows. The check-in process is refreshingly personal too – you’re dealing with people who know Prague inside and out and will point you toward spots that aren’t in every guidebook. During my stay in late spring, the place had this relaxed energy where guests would chat in the common areas without it feeling forced or awkward. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between hostel community and hotel privacy, especially when you need easy transport connections, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

Reviews

  • Good – Sun from United Kingdom – 17 October 2024 (7/10)

The location is perfect, right next to the train station. It is easy to check in. The facilities are great.

What could be improved: The host is not so responsive, especially after you check in.

  • Heatwave in Prague – Pete from United Kingdom – 24 July 2024 (7/10)

    It was ok

What could be improved: The homeless drug addicts living opposite making lots of noise arguing with each other
Taxis would only pick up round the corner
Air conditioning did not work properly
The floor in the bathroom was very slippy when wet
We did not get the wifi password for 2 days after messaging 4 times
The apartment was very modern and nice but extremely hot

  • We were very happy with the appointment and knowing how it all works, we’d use this place again. – Marzena from Poland – 22 June 2024 (7/10)

The location was simple perfect! Close to the railway station and the old town square. The property was clean and sufficiently comfortable.

What could be improved: I had a big problem with contacting the property on the day of arrival and prior to. They never replied to messages and when I was trying to reach them over the phone, the number was not connected. I ended up calling booking.com customer service. During the stay I needed an iron ( it was supposed to be in the apartment) and I wasn’t able to get a hold of the office. I had to give up.

  • Very good – Peter from Australia – 27 May 2024 (8/10)

The apartment was comfortable and clean, and its location by the station was excellent.

What could be improved: The apartment was quite small for three people.
The shower drainage was very poor and caused flooding in the bathroom.
We had a problem with access to the apartment on our last day, due to a fault in the blue chip entry system.

  • Very good – Masha from United States – 25 April 2024 (8/10)

The lication is great, the beds are comfortable and the apartment was very clean.

  • For 2 days.. enought… – Herminio from Spain – 11 December 2023 (7/10)

The best thing about the apartment is the location in the city, very central and next to the station, buses and train… Cleanliness is good…

What could be improved: The worst thing is the lack of utensils in the kitchen, the Wi-Fi didn't work either and we had to complain to the owner… The owner only answers the messages that interest him… You can ask him many questions, but he doesn't answer you or you He answers in Vietnamese… the information he gives to enter the accommodation is insufficient… He simply gives you two photos and he thinks that is enough… Furthermore, the information he gives you is not correct and it took us more than 30 minutes to access to the apartment… Having to call him to inform him of the problem… We were six people, but the apartment only had three chairs… the stay was not at all bad… but it is true that the towels he left us for the service were very small and they were not useful for showering… the apartment is good, but it has many things to improve…

  • Very good – Marcelo from Chile – 20 September 2023 (8/10)

I would have expected more details about how to get into the building, It was confusing. Besides that, all was perfect.

  • Our stay is just okay – Irene from New Zealand – 5 July 2025 (7/10)

Location is what I expected and close to train station

What could be improved: The building upon entering you find ground floor empty a stair going to an iron bar door before going to different rooms in the first level a bit uncommon to me. We stayed one night the room was okay but not used to this kind of accommodation

  • Good – Sophia from Hong Kong – 22 June 2025 (7/10)

Room is big enough and location is good

What could be improved: Air conditioner and fan not working, very hot at room

  • Reasonable – Helena from Germany – 3 March 2025 (6/10)

The apartment is located right next to the central station and only 20 minutes walking to the old town – the location is amazing.
Regarding the apartment is very simple but good for a maximum of 6 persons and the price was ok for the conditions.

What could be improved: – The communication with the host was awful. Instructions were not correct, no one answered to messages and emails and we had to call via WhatsApp to have some instructions to do the check in. We expected way more communication.
    – The bathroom left a lot to be desired. Toilet without a top and cleaning utensils placed in a corner of the bathroom.
    – Being an apartment for a maximum of 6 people, the fact that was only one set of keys didn’t help. At least two sets of keys was the minimum.
    – Noise from other rooms
