Comfort Hotel Prague City Overview
You know what struck me first about the Comfort Hotel Prague City? It’s actually tucked away on Bečvářova Street in a way that feels deliberately understated – like they didn’t need to shout about their location because anyone staying there would figure out pretty quickly how well-positioned they are. I mean, you’re essentially in Vinohrady, which honestly feels more authentic than being right in the tourist crush of Old Town, but you can still walk to Wenceslas Square in about fifteen minutes if you’re feeling ambitious.
The building itself has this clean, Nordic-influenced design that makes sense once you realize it’s part of the Choice Hotels family – there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. The lobby doesn’t try to wow you with chandeliers or marble, but the staff actually seems to know Prague beyond the standard tourist script, which I appreciated when I was trying to find a decent late-night bite that wasn’t goulash (though honestly, the goulash here isn’t bad either). What really won me over was how quiet the rooms stay despite being in the city – apparently they put some real thought into soundproofing, because you’d never guess there’s street life happening outside. The beds are properly firm, and they’ve got this efficient little bathroom setup that maximizes space without feeling cramped.
Here’s the thing about this place that you won’t get from the standard hotel photos: it’s positioned perfectly for people who want to experience actual Prague life rather than just tourist Prague. You’ve got Náměstí Míru just a short walk away – that’s Peace Square for the non-Czech speakers – where locals actually hang out and there’s a fantastic farmers market on Saturdays. The metro connection at Muzeum station gets you anywhere you need to go, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by cafes and restaurants that aren’t specifically hunting for tourist wallets. I stumbled into this little wine bar called Vinohradský pivovar about three blocks away that I never would have found if I’d been staying in the hotel district. The breakfast situation is solid too – they do this Scandinavian-style spread that’s heavy on fresh ingredients and light on the greasy tourist-trap stuff, though I’ll admit I missed having proper Czech pastries. The 8.7 rating makes total sense when you add it all up; it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without any unnecessary flourishes, and honestly, after a day of navigating Prague’s cobblestones and crowds, that’s exactly what you want to come back to.

Clean and smart hotel. Complimentary beverage upon check-in. A variety of selections for breakfast. Relatively close to the train. Very spacious room and shower I loved. Big TV and comfortable bed. Wonderful views from the top floor. Laundry on site. Lounge area in the lobby is very comfortable.
What could be improved: There was no housekeeping, unsure if I needed to request housekeeping. If someone elderly is in your group. The walk to the train is a bit long. There was no refrigerator or microwave or water in the room. Outside of old town square.Cindy from United Arab Emirates – 16 January 2025 (8/10)
Very friendly and helpful staff, especially at breakfast time
Aydan from Azerbaijan – 12 January 2025 (9/10)
Everything was perfect, except the taste of scrambled eggs for breakfast, need to change the recipe.
Also, kettles in the room were missing, would be nice to have it in the room.
I am not sure it has anything to do with the staff, but my earrings got missing.

Location is good. Right in front tram stop. Breakfast is good and has many options.
Jana from Germany – 3 January 2025 (8/10)
The hotel is not right in the city center, but conveniently located close to public transport stations. The breakfast was good with a lot of options, including warm food like eggs and potatoes. The bed was comfortable (soft) and the room was pretty big. The hotel has a nice gym and a laundry room. Self checkin and checkout were quick and convenient.
What could be improved: The price was pretty high (it was new years eve though). For the price it would have been nice to have a hot water kettle to make tea / coffee in the room. The glass door to the bathroom is not exactly soundproof. No vegan options at breakfast.
