Cloister Inn Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about the Cloister Inn? It’s tucked away on Konviktska Street in a way that feels completely intentional – like someone actually thought about where to put a hotel instead of just grabbing whatever space was available. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Old Town Square, but somehow you’ve escaped all that tourist chaos. The morning I checked in, I could hear church bells from multiple directions (Prague’s got a thing about bells, honestly), but none of that street performer accordion music that drives you crazy after day two.
The building itself has this understated thing going on – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but everything feels solid and well-maintained. My room was actually bigger than I expected for a 3-star, with these thick walls that kept things surprisingly quiet even when Konviktska got busy during evening rush hour. The shower had proper water pressure, which – let’s be real – isn’t always a given in these older Prague buildings. What I really appreciated was how they’d managed to modernize things without losing that Central European character. The breakfast room still has these beautiful high ceilings, but the WiFi actually works everywhere and the heating responds when you adjust it.
Location-wise, this is where staying here gets smart. You’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square or cross the Charles Bridge without breaking a sweat, but you’re also right near some of those little streets where actual Prague residents grab coffee and groceries. There’s this bakery on Národní Street – maybe a four-minute walk – where locals line up every morning, and I started timing my breakfast routine around their fresh koláče. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I asked about it, which tells you most guests probably stick to the tourist spots. Parking’s tricky in this area (it’s Prague city center, what do you expect?), but they can point you toward a garage that’s not completely unreasonable price-wise. That 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does the basics really well without any dramatic flourishes. You’re not getting a rooftop infinity pool or turndown service with chocolates, but your key card works every time, the front desk remembers your name by day two, and you’ll sleep well. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Excellent location, just a short walk to Charles Bridge and the Old Town.
We loved the free coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby – such a nice touch. The room was great, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

The location is nice, very close to everything you need around. Manager Alex was a great help with all of our questions.
What could be improved: If you leave the windows open over night it might be too loud because of the loud tourists hanging out at the bar across the streetIf you want to explore Prague by foot the Cloister Inn is a perfect spot! – Rico from Germany – 25 April 2025 (8/10)
The hotel is actually right in the middle of Prague AND had a separate parking option which was perfect for us as we explore cities by foot. The hotel is not the most modern equipped but the quality is very good. The room was super spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were very nice and available 24/7. Our apartment was a bit separated and had a view to the parking backyard. It was very quiet.
What could be improved: Hot tub/shower water was only available between 5am and 2pm … it was not possible to have a shower in the evening.Superb location, great value for money – Sinickis from United Kingdom – 20 April 2025 (9/10)
Superb location, right in the city centre and old town. The hotel is quiet and very comfy. The best water pressure in the shower I experienced. Andrey and Alex at the reception were super friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: There seemed to be only one socket by the bed and it was already used for lamps and the room phone. Not the end of the world, since I used my socket extender.
