You know what caught me off guard about City Leaf Apartments? It’s tucked away on Charvátova Street in a way that feels almost secretive – I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the chaos of Wenceslas Square, but the moment you turn onto this little side street, everything gets quieter. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Prague architecture that locals actually live in, not the overly restored tourist traps you see everywhere else.

The apartments themselves are honestly better than I expected for a 4-star place. They’ve got this clean, modern thing going on without trying too hard to be trendy – you know, actual functional kitchens with decent-sized fridges (trust me, this matters when you’re staying more than a few days), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I stayed on the third floor and barely heard any street noise, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re right in the heart of New Town. The Wi-Fi actually works properly too, something I’ve learned not to take for granted in Prague’s older buildings. One thing though – the elevators are a bit slow, so if you’re in a rush, the stairs might be your friend.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right between everything you actually want to see. Walk ten minutes east and you’re at the Národní Museum, ten minutes west puts you at the National Theatre, and honestly, some of my favorite little pubs and cafés are scattered around this neighborhood. There’s this tiny bakery on Ječná Street – maybe three blocks away – that does these incredible koláče that locals line up for every morning. The front desk staff seemed to know all these kinds of spots, which tells you they’re not just reading from a script. Parking can be tricky (it’s Prague, what do you expect?), but there’s a garage about two blocks away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 7.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does everything well without any major disappointments. Perfect if you want to actually experience Prague like someone who lives there, rather than being stuck in some sterile hotel bubble in the tourist district.

  I was very pleased with the location of the property, being very close to a shopping centre and the tourist old town.
  The property was clean, although I would recommend more attention to detail, but it was not dirty. I am pleased with the cleanliness.
