City-Inn Overview

You know what? City-Inn on Hybernská is one of those places that grows on you. I’ll be honest – walking up to it, you’re not exactly blown away by the exterior, but step inside and there’s this surprisingly cozy vibe that just works. The lobby’s got this warm lighting that makes the whole place feel more intimate than your typical Prague tourist trap.

The location is actually pretty brilliant, though most people don’t realize it at first. Hybernská runs parallel to Wenceslas Square, but it’s far enough off the main drag that you’re not dealing with drunk bachelor parties stumbling past your window at 3 AM. I mean, you’re literally a four-minute walk to the Old Town, but you can actually sleep at night – which, honestly, is harder to find in central Prague than you’d think. Plus there’s this little Vietnamese place two doors down that does these incredible banh mi sandwiches for like 80 crowns, and the staff there will remember your order after the second visit.

What I really appreciate about City-Inn is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The rooms are clean and comfortable – not fancy, but everything works and the beds are actually decent (I’ve stayed in “luxury” hotels with worse mattresses, trust me). The bathroom situation is totally fine, though the shower pressure varies depending on what floor you’re on. The WiFi is solid throughout the building, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve been to. Check-in is usually pretty smooth, though if you’re arriving during peak summer months or around Christmas markets season, just be patient – the front desk can get a bit overwhelmed since it’s really just a two-person operation most of the time.

The breakfast setup is simple but does the job – nothing fancy, but there’s always fresh bread, decent coffee, and enough variety that you won’t feel ripped off. What’s nice is they keep it going until 10 AM, so you’re not rushing down there at dawn like some places make you do. The common areas have this lived-in feel that’s way more relaxing than those sterile chain hotel lobbies.

Look, this isn’t going to be the highlight of your Prague trip, but it’s exactly what a good three-star hotel should be – clean, comfortable, well-located, and reasonably priced. The 7.1 rating makes sense; it’s not perfect, but it hits all the important marks without any major complaints. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway (which you should be in Prague), City-Inn gives you a solid home base without eating up half your travel budget. The neighborhood feels safe walking around at night, and you’re close enough to everything that matters without being in the thick of the tourist chaos.

Prague hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town Square to elegant castle-view hotels and modern accommodations near Wenceslas Square.

Reviews of City-Inn

  • Good location, nice breakfast but some things to improve – Francesco from Italy – 27 April 2025 (7/10)

The breakfast was really good and the rooms were very big and wide. The bed was comfortable

What could be improved: The blankets had some stains, the shower wasn't really closed so the water was flooding the bathroom

  • Perfect choice for a weekend of sightseeing. Location-price-value 10/10. Comfort 7/10. – Ervin from Hungary – 17 April 2025 (8/10)

Considering that they provide good breakfast, this hotel is a really good option from value-price point of view. The location of the accommodation is also really good. Every big attraction is in walking distance.
Regarding the comfort. You can see it on the pictures, this is not a luxury option. We got what we paid for, we didn’t have high expectations.

  • Good job – Dambaasuren from Mongolia – 3 April 2025 (8/10)

    nice

  • Very good – Luiza from Brazil – 2 April 2025 (8/10)

The location and the breakfast were amazing. The only thing was that the courtain was terrible and we woke up with clarity everyday.

  • New Year Eve – Fati from Kosovo – 20 February 2025 (8/10)

Big room, close location to city center,

What could be improved: old windows, not friendly and helpful staff, expensive prices, no parking area, old and slow elevator, no TV,
    no mirror,

  • Very good – Mariana from Brazil – 1 January 2025 (8/10)

We stayed in a hotel with a private bathroom and really enjoyed our experience (the room was perfect and enormous).. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the city center and the main train station in Prague. The breakfast was definitely the highlight of our trip – it was delicious and offered a great variety. We also appreciated that they stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out at no extra cost, which was very convenient. They even allowed us to have breakfast before check-in for just 6 euros per person, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would definitely return!

What could be improved: The bathroom had a glass shower enclosure, but it was only on one side, which caused water to splash and make the bathroom wet. The staff spoke fluent English, but they weren’t very friendly. We were also surprised to find that we had to pay a 10-euro deposit to use a hairdryer, which is refunded when you return the dryer. The worst part, though, was the lack of a lobby. There wasn’t even a chair to sit on before check-in or after check-out, which would have been very useful.

  • a fine stay. – Bayar from Mongolia – 23 December 2024 (7/10)

    Clean room, recently renovated.

What could be improved: A lady at the reception was not very kind. When we came to check in, she seemed a little rude. We don't know why.

  • Great location and pretty clean given the price tag. Bed was pretty hard, breakfast standard overall a pleasant stay and – Ben from United Kingdom – 20 December 2024 (7/10)

Excellent location, enjoyed the amenities in the room.

What could be improved: Bed wasn’t comfortable at all and the breakfast was standard but can’t really complain for the price.

  • Fine hotel hospitality at a good price. – Nancy from United States – 21 October 2024 (8/10)

    Location, breakfast, cleanliness

  • Good – Talal from United Kingdom – 7 October 2024 (7/10)

    Excellent location and staff

What could be improved: No electric kettle
    No shampoo
    No tissues
