Charles Bridge Suite by Riverside Overview

Honestly, when I first walked up to Charles Bridge Suite by Riverside on Náprstkova, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the entrance is sort of tucked away on the first floor, which threw me off for a second. But you know what? That actually turned out to be one of its best features because you’re literally steps away from all the action without being right in the thick of tourist chaos.

The location is absolutely killer, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re maybe a three-minute walk to Charles Bridge (hence the name, obviously), but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you can actually hear the Vltava River from some of the rooms, especially at night when the city quiets down a bit. During the day, there’s this gentle hum of activity from the nearby cafés and shops, but it never gets overwhelming. I stayed there in late spring, and honestly, stepping out in the morning to grab coffee felt like having Prague’s Old Town as your personal backyard. The narrow cobblestone streets around Náprstkova have this authentic medieval vibe that you just can’t fake – no tourist trap nonsense, just real Prague life happening around you.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with the building’s historic character. The suites (and they actually feel like proper suites, not just hotel rooms with a fancy name) have these gorgeous high ceilings and original architectural details, but the amenities are totally up to date. The bathrooms are particularly well done – good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in older Prague buildings, trust me. I mean, you’re staying in a neighborhood where some buildings date back centuries, so it’s refreshing when everything just works properly. The staff was genuinely helpful too, not in that overly rehearsed hotel way, but more like locals who actually know their city and want to share it with you. They pointed me toward this little wine bar on Kampa Island that I never would’ve found otherwise – it’s maybe a ten-minute walk through some of Prague’s most photogenic streets.

The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Prague, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like this. You can walk to Prague Castle, wander through Lesser Town, hit up the famous astronomical clock, or just sit by the river with a beer – all without dealing with trams or taxis. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the neighborhood actually smells good. You know how some tourist areas have that stale, overly commercialized smell? Not here. You get whiffs of fresh bread from nearby bakeries and that clean river air mixing with old stone buildings. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself taking the long way back just to soak up more of the atmosphere.

Prague hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town Square to elegant castle-view hotels and modern accommodations near Wenceslas Square.

Reviews of Charles Bridge Suite by Riverside

  • Marius from Romania – 3 May 2023 (9/10)

Modern decor and unbeatable location – just steps away from the Charles Bridge and all the major attractions in the historic center

  • Toni from Australia – 16 January 2025 (8/10)

Place was beautifully decorated, comfortable, warm, great size and location was excellent.

What could be improved: We arrived at night and found the property difficult to find. Once there it was fantastic. Would have liked a toaster and microwave to be part of the kitchen set up.

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 3 January 2025 (9/10)

It was very clean, lovely decor, just a great stay in general

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Rudolph from United States – 2 January 2025 (9/10)

A nice well located home for our stay

  • Alice from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful property in an amazing location

What could be improved: Nothing the owner can do, just a heads up to other travellers, I think the upstairs neighbours maybe have a toddler who runs around at all hours of the night, so earplugs are useful if you’re a light sleeper.

  • Ngoc from Germany – 5 October 2024 (9/10)

The apartment looks exactly like in the photos. It's spacious and everything was super clean. There's central heating as well as air conditioninh (cooling & heating). The location is the best aspect: super close to every sightseeing spot so you can basically walk everywhere. Despite being located so centrally, it was in a side street so it was pretty quiet.

  • James from United States – 26 August 2024 (9/10)

Gorgeous apartment, looks just like the pictures, super nice and comfortable bed, the best location imaginable and extremely helpful hosts!

What could be improved: Could have had more coffee pods, the shower curtain blows into the shower and sticks to you while you’re showering frequently

  • Abhishek from India – 10 June 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful & spacious apartment and a perfect location – in the centre of old town and at the same time away from the noise and hustle bustle.

What could be improved: It was on the first floor and we had to drag our suitcases up. Add to it they sent a link one hour before check in time where in you need to go and find check in instructions amongst multiple other things listed. Though the instructions were excellently laid out, definitely need to simplify the process of arriving at the se instructions. Ideally just send it over a mail a day prior rather than having us go through a link with 20 other things listed.

  • Michelle from Ireland – 14 April 2024 (8/10)

The accommodation was conveniently located with everything within walking distance, including a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. We liked the large bed and the spacious living/kitchen area. Communication with the property owners was good. The decor and style of the apartment is nice.

What could be improved: It can be a little noisy sometimes, with noise from outside and also the apartment next door while we were there. The curtains don't quite fit the windows in the apartment. There was a problem with the hot water in the bathroom sink (instructions were left about this from the host but I still couldn't get it to work), but I figured out that if you turn the tap to the hottest setting and turn the water on fully, the hot water kicks in. The kitchen is quite well equipped, but there is no microwave or toaster.
