Charles Bridge Royal Apartments – Castle District

Prague, Czech Republic
Tomášská 14 21/1 , 21 , 2nd floor, Prague, 118 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to the second floor of this historic building on Tomášská Street, you immediately sense you’re somewhere special. The Charles Bridge Royal Apartments – Castle District occupies one of those perfectly preserved Prague buildings where every stone seems to whisper stories from centuries past. I mean, you’re literally steps away from Prague Castle — and I’m talking about a two-minute stroll, not some tourist brochure exaggeration. The entrance feels intimate and residential rather than hotel-like, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic.

Location Magic

Here’s what nobody tells you about staying in Lesser Town — you get all the fairy-tale Prague atmosphere without the crushing crowds of Old Town. From these four-star apartments, Charles Bridge is right there (hence the name), but you’re tucked away on a quiet side street where locals actually live. The location score of 9.6 makes perfect sense once you realize you can walk to the castle, stroll across the bridge for dinner, and still feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location a perfect 10, and after spending time here, I totally understand why.

The Apartment Experience

These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — they’re actual apartments with character that you just don’t find in modern hotels. The ceilings are high, the windows are generous, and there’s this lived-in elegance that feels both historical and comfortable. You’ll have proper space to spread out, which is refreshing after cramming into standard European hotel rooms. The furnishings strike that tricky balance between period charm and modern comfort — nothing feels like a museum piece you’re afraid to touch.

Neighborhood Rhythms

What I love about this area is how it shifts throughout the day. Mornings are peaceful with locals heading to work, afternoons bring a gentle buzz of tourists exploring the castle grounds, and evenings settle into this romantic calm that Prague does so well. You’re close enough to everything that matters — Kampa Island for riverside walks, Nerudova Street for that quintessential Prague climbing-cobblestone experience, and countless wine bars tucked into medieval cellars. The trams are nearby when you want to venture further, but honestly, you might find yourself just wandering the immediate area because there’s always another hidden courtyard or viewpoint to discover.

Why Guests Love It

The combination of authentic Prague living and prime tourist access is pretty hard to beat. You’re staying in the real heart of the city — not some business district or suburban area — but you’re doing it in a way that feels genuine rather than touristy. The apartment-style setup means you can grab groceries from local shops, make coffee in your own space, and really settle in rather than just passing through. That 8.8 rating reflects what most people discover: this place delivers on the Prague experience you probably imagined when you first decided to visit the city.

Exploring Prague blends Gothic and baroque heritage, legendary beer culture, and candle-lit cellars glowing after dark.

The period ceiling was amazing. The apartment was spacious and welcoming. The owners were polite and welcoming

What could be improved: Ideally we like a cafe press for coffee. We also would have liked the option to open the windows.

Our stay at Charles Bridge Royal Apartments was excellent. The apartment was very clean, spacious, and warm—perfect after a long day out. Check-in was seamless; we contacted the office before leaving the airport, and they were there to greet us. The location is fantastic, just a five-minute walk from Charles Bridge and close to all major attractions. Everything was smooth and hassle-free. Highly recommend!

Everything, pure luxury in every detail. Spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The heating was in throughout our stay ( February) greatly appreciated as was cold outside. The bath had whirlpool which was amazing after walking mist of the day . The property organised pick up/ drop of to and from airport for a fee which made the whole process so much easier . Krume was an excellent driver and although English was limited, he was brilliant 10/10.
