You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Century Old Town Prague on Na Poříčí – honestly, the street looks pretty unremarkable from that angle, just another busy road leading into the city center. But step inside and it’s like someone hit a reset button on your expectations. The lobby has this gorgeous blend of old Prague charm with sleek modern touches that actually works (and trust me, a lot of hotels try this combo and completely botch it). The MGallery Collection clearly knows what they’re doing here.

What really sold me on this place is how it sits in that sweet spot between being close to everything without being right in the tourist chaos. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Powder Tower and Municipal House – I mean, you can see the tower from some of the upper floor windows – but you’re not dealing with the crowds that camp out around Old Town Square all day. The rooms are genuinely comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty, with these great blackout curtains that actually block out the morning light (small thing, but you’ll thank me when you’re recovering from a night sampling Czech beer). I stayed on the fourth floor and could barely hear the street traffic, which is saying something because Na Poříčí can get pretty busy during rush hour.

Here’s the thing that impressed me most – the staff actually knows Prague. Not just the obvious tourist spots, but they pointed me toward this little wine bar on Dlouhá street that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the concierge gave me specific tram directions instead of just calling a taxi. The breakfast setup is solid too, though it gets crowded around 8:30 when all the business travelers are rushing out. Pro tip: if you’re not in a hurry, wait until after 9 and you’ll have the place mostly to yourself. The building itself has some beautiful original details – these ornate ceiling moldings and restored tile work that remind you you’re staying in a city that’s been here for over a thousand years. It’s a proper 4-star experience with that MGallery polish, and honestly, given how much you’d pay for something comparable right in Old Town, the location here feels like getting away with something.

  Clean fashionable handy location great staff. Rooms attended to every day. Large bed very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: Room was a little cramped for 3 days and cupboard space limited. Couldn’t open windows for fresh air so not really a fan of A/C. Hotel situated on tram line so can be a little noisy at night but you soon become accustomed to it.

  maybe have more variety on dinner menu and room service menu. when the weather is cold/ rainy, sometimes you don't want to go out to find food. the bar downstairs could serve tapas like snacks with drinks
