Walking up to Central Studios in Prague’s Žižkov district, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical tourist hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star property sits on a quiet residential street, but don’t let the understated exterior fool you. The moment you step inside, there’s this clean, modern vibe that feels more like a boutique apartment building than a traditional hotel. The location offers authentic charm while maintaining modern comfort and accessibility.

The Žižkov Experience

You know what I love about staying here? Žižkov is where actual Praguers live and hang out. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Old Town Square, but you’re getting something way more authentic. The neighborhood has this gritty-cool energy with local pubs, quirky cafes, and the famous Žižkov TV Tower looming overhead (which looks bizarre but somehow works). Couples absolutely love this area — there’s a reason they rate the location 8.7 out of 10.

It’s got character without the tourist chaos, offering visitors a genuine glimpse into local Prague life. The district provides excellent access to cultural attractions while maintaining a residential atmosphere that larger tourist areas cannot match.

The Room

Here’s where Central Studios really shines — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up actually refreshed instead of feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night. The room itself is compact but smartly designed, with everything you need without feeling cramped. There’s a small kitchenette setup that’s perfect if you want to grab groceries from the local market and make coffee the way you like it.

The whole space feels clean and contemporary, sort of like a well-designed studio apartment that someone actually thought about. Every detail has been carefully considered to maximize comfort and functionality in the available space.

Getting Around

The tram connections from here are actually pretty solid — you can get to the city center in about 15 minutes, which gives you the best of both worlds. During the day, you’re exploring Prague Castle or wandering through the Jewish Quarter, but at night you come back to this quieter neighborhood where you can find a proper Czech pub that’s not charging tourist prices. There’s decent parking in the area too, which honestly can be a nightmare in other parts of Prague.

  Great location, very close to the tram line that goes to Old Town and other tourist spots. The room was clean and comfortable, very large and comfy pillows! My room also has a small fridge which is not common with lots of European hotels at this price point.

  Staff! Peter provided us with directions how to get to the flat. Additionally, the shared space had the map so we could easily navigate. I also appreciated that our room had a list. Restaurants, bars, the cheapest ways to move around Prague and so on. It was helpful for foreigners 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Missing essentials – While we have seen what we may expect from the room, we didn't have plates nor bowls. So eating breakfast was a nightmare.
  Also, anything allowing us to heat up food (beside the kettle that the room had) would be helpful. We didn't have much luck with the weather, so we were stuck either for instant soups for small cups or going to nearby restaurants. Even a small microwave in shared space would do the trick.

  The room was really spacious and equipped with a water kettle and a minifridge. The host left us lots of tea bags and coffee. It’s super close to a tram station that has very good connections with the city center. For the price it was perfect! Perfect communication with the host
  
  What could be improved: It was extremely cold the first night even though they said the warming system works on a thermostat, but upon request they changed the settings and the room got super warm!

  It was a very pleasant stay. We rested very well, it was mostly silent and the beds were really comfy and big. The blinds were good. They had the light switch on both sides + electrical outlets. The shower had warm water and comfortable shower-head.
  Both main room and toilet had trash bins. We received 3 towels which also were clean and comfy. The location of the TV was also comfy. Overall, very good price for the quality received.
  
  What could be improved: No plates / forks / sponge / dish soap, but that's the only thing we found to be missing, every other small details were there! Also, the corridor before you enter the room had a chlorine scent, but that's a minor thing that they could've fixed somehow (just a small suggestion). The TV crashed twice after ~30 minutes of watching something on YT on both nights without the ability to restart it, maybe because of the wifi.

• The perfect base for a few days exploring Prague – Angus from United Kingdom – 23 September 2024 (9/10)

  Fantastic location. Only 15 minutes ( max) walk from central station, close to parks, supermarket and great restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Excellent facilities, really all that you need for an independent, self contained base in the centre of the city. Peter was super friendly and helpful, with clear instructions and great recommendations for food and transport. If we come back to Prague, Central Station Studios would be first on my list of places to stay on a limited budget.

  Central Studios was a good location and the hosts, Peter and Vasyl were lovely.
  The place was clean and had all the necessities, having a fridge and a fan was very useful in the heat.

  The place was great, it was well kept, clean, big, there was a fridge and utensils to make a coffee and tea. Bathroom was super nice. The room was within 5min walk to big store (Lidl) and well-connected tram stop. It was quiet and safe.
  
  What could be improved: The AC device in the room was making it warmer instead of cooler. There was some misunderstanding regarding the payment and the owner should be nicer about it, especially that the fault was on his side, it wouldve been a 10/10 if it wasnt for that.

  Clean, straightforward, no nonsense accomodation. Free coffee and tea. Fridge. Comfortable, quiet, more than adequately heated (whilst outside temp was below 10 degrees centigrade at least during nightime).

  The room was clean, very nice standard, a loot of amenities like fan, kitchen and bathroom appliances, nice tv with netflix. Location was really good, very close to the city, bus stops, shops etc.

  -There are coffee, milk and variety of tea available in the room.
  -The facilities were so good that there was even a shoehorn in the room! 🙂
