Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Central Station Studios,” I was expecting some generic corporate place near the train tracks. But this little gem in Žižkov completely caught me off guard. The building itself has this understated Czech charm that you don’t really notice until you’re inside, and then you realize the owners actually put thought into making it feel like a proper home base rather than just somewhere to crash.

Žižkov is honestly one of Prague’s best-kept secrets, and staying here puts you right in the thick of it without the tourist circus you get around Old Town. You’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk to Wenceslas Square, but here’s the thing – you probably won’t want to leave the neighborhood much. The local pubs (and I mean the real ones where locals actually drink) are fantastic, and there’s this organic market on Jiřího z Poděbrad square that happens twice a week where you can grab proper Czech bread and cheese. The TV Tower – yeah, that weird communist-era thing with the giant babies crawling on it – is literally around the corner, and while it sounds bizarre, the views from up there are actually incredible.

What really sold me on Central Station Studios was how they handle the small stuff. The studios themselves are surprisingly spacious, with kitchenettes that actually work (novel concept, I know), and the soundproofing is solid – important when you’re in a residential area where real people live. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no twenty questions about breakfast preferences or spa treatments you can’t afford. The staff genuinely knows the area too, not just the standard tourist script. When I asked about late-night food options, they pointed me toward this Vietnamese place on Korunní that’s open until 2 AM and serves the best pho outside of Asia. You know what really impressed me though? The internet actually works properly – seems basic, but you’d be amazed how many places mess this up.

The whole area comes alive at night in this authentic way that’s getting harder to find in Prague. Students, artists, young professionals – it’s got this creative energy without trying too hard to be hip. And honestly, for an 8.8 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises. It’s not trying to be luxury (hence the 3-star designation), but it’s clean, comfortable, and puts you somewhere you’d actually want to spend time. The tram connections are excellent – line 5 or 9 will get you pretty much anywhere in the city center within twenty minutes. Just a heads up though, weekends can get a bit lively since there are some popular bars nearby, but nothing too crazy, and it usually winds down by midnight. If you want to experience Prague like someone who actually lives here rather than just checking monuments off a list, this is your spot.

  The room was spacious, clean, well equiped (android tv, fridge, kettle, cups, coffee, tea, sugar, basic cutlery, etc). The location of the property was convenient (15 min walk to central Prague, 5 min walk to the main station (Hlavni nadrazdi) and the AE bus stop, two min walk to Lidl).
  
  What could be improved: I didn't like pictures on the wall in our room, especially the one of the double decker bus in London……it almost fell
  on my head whilst I was sleeping……
  First of all, I would like to see a picture of a beautiful Czech landscape and secondly, it should be securely attached to the wall……
  I was lucky not to leave Prague with an injury……

  Nightime flight with arrival after midnight. Easy access to room via keysafe. Simple checkout process. Old Town Square easily walkable (20 mins) or regular trams from nearby stop. Airport Express shuttle from main train station 5 mins walk away. Spacious studio room with comfy beds. Nearby bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Lidl 2 mins walk for supplies! Would reccommend, would stay again.,
  
  What could be improved: Annoying door on bathroom doesn't shut properly and swings open although eventually shuts with some endeavour. Hey, if this is my only negative point, then clearly this is a great accomodation choice!

  Everything was great – communication with the host was super easy, instructions were very clear and the room itself was clean and comfortable. The location was quiet and very close to the main station but also close to Lidl and cafes/restaurants. The room was simple and comfortable – there was a fridge, a table and some coffee, tea and a kettle + utensils. Would stay there again!
