Hotel Description
So I stumbled across this little gem on Jilská Street while wandering around Prague’s Old Town, and honestly, it’s one of those places that gets everything right without trying too hard. The Boutique Residence by Little King sits right in the thick of things – I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Astronomical Clock, but somehow you don’t get that tourist trap vibe that plagues so many hotels in this area.
The building itself has this understated elegance that screams Prague without hitting you over the head with it. You know how some boutique places try way too hard with the quirky decor? This isn’t that. The interiors feel thoughtfully curated – there’s character in the details, like the original ceiling beams and these gorgeous hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a centuries-old building. The rooms are what I’d call “smartly sized” for a historic European property, meaning they’re not huge but every inch is used well. Actually, the bathrooms surprised me – they managed to fit in proper showers without that claustrophobic feeling you sometimes get in these old conversions.
What really won me over was the staff’s approach to hospitality. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the front desk folks actually knew their neighborhood. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at Prague Castle, they gave me this whole spiel about timing and alternative routes that clearly came from living here, not reading a guidebook. The location is honestly perfect if you want to be central but still feel like you’re experiencing real Prague. Jilská Street itself is this narrow cobblestone lane that feels almost residential despite being steps from major attractions – you’ll hear church bells in the morning instead of tour buses, at least until about 9 AM when the city wakes up.
I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and the neighborhood had this lovely rhythm to it. Mornings were quiet enough to enjoy coffee by the window, watching locals head to work, but by afternoon you could step outside and be in the middle of all the action. The nearby restaurants aren’t the tourist traps you’d expect either – there’s this little wine bar around the corner that locals actually frequent, and a traditional Czech pub that doesn’t feel like dinner theater. One thing worth noting: if you’re driving, forget about it. This is old town Prague, so parking is basically impossible, but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. The trams and metro are right there, though you’ll probably end up walking everywhere because the city center is so compact and beautiful.
The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Is it the fanciest hotel in Prague? No, and that’s actually part of its charm. It feels authentic and well-run rather than trying to be something it’s not, which is refreshing in a city where so many places are chasing that Instagram-perfect aesthetic at the expense of actual comfort.
The concierge service in Prague can arrange exclusive tours of Prague Castle, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize personalized visits to Charles Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Fantastic stay – Christina from United Kingdom – 15 July 2025 (9/10)
The location was excellent and even though you are right in town, it was not noisy at all. The bed was super comfortable. The room was exceptionally clean and the shower was great. There was even l'occitane products to use.
Check in and check out process was very easy. We felt the hotel was excellent value for money too.
What could be improved: The hairdryer would cut out after a few minutes so wasn't really usable.A very nice and comfortable place – Errol from Germany – 8 July 2025 (8/10)
A very nice place it was perfectly located. The facilities were very clean
What could be improved: There were no issuesLocation location!! – Lafrance from Canada – 19 June 2025 (9/10)
The property has an excellent location. Rooms are comfortable.
What could be improved: I liked everythingCentral, in the thick of everything, beautiful building, great rooms and great value for money – Leanne from Austria – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
Extremely central. Opposite Fat Cat Beerhouse. This is great for being in the centre of things, but there was a downside which we'll share below.
Very nice building, well organised check-in system.
Comfortable bed, excellent shower, lovely fluffy white towels, extremely clean, high ceilings, place to work at a desk and all rooms had fans.
Lovely touch was the L'Occitane soap and shampoo in the shower and bathroom.
There is a kitchen area on the second floor which was great and can use microwave, so nice area to have your own breakfast if staying a few days. There was also a reading alcove on 1st floor which I used for phone calls to get out of the room while husband had a meeting. The internet service was great even with the thick walls and I managed calls to Australia on WhatsApp sitting in the armchairs in the reading alcove. Really nice experience staying here.
What could be improved: We generally need aircon, as we like a cool room. Our colleague found the Little King Residence and booked first, so we followed without looking at our usual requirements. The fan in the room helped, but if we opened the window at all then the raucous fun being had by groups of pissed people at Fat Cat Beerhouse opposite was quite intrusive. Saying that, we knew we were booking something central and so we should have been ready for the noise. We're in our 50s and generally, we just like a quieter option, so next time we'll request to be in one of the Little King's other properties as our colleague ended up there and said it was quiet and lovely.Little king – Louise from United Kingdom – 4 June 2025 (8/10)
Location clean friendly staff
What could be improved: Hair dryer didn't work, shower didn't stay up, no view out the windowVery gpod for a weekend trip. – Charles from France – 26 May 2025 (8/10)
Good location, clean. Very easy to check in and check out.
What could be improved: Noisy. We could hear the streets as widow quality was poor.Superb – Lady from Ireland – 24 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is close to all the major spots. The facilities are super clean, smells really good and fresh. And it’s really comfortable and cosy inside the room.
What could be improved: A bit noisy outside but manageable since it’s a busy area.A good place for the fit and young. – Barbara from Australia – 5 May 2025 (9/10)
The location was central. The bathroom products of high quality. The shared kitchen was useful.
What could be improved: The stairs were difficult for an older couple, creaky and no handrails at the top. The room was very small with a sloping ceiling causing many head bumps.
Didn’t like the electronic check in, lack of personal contact. Nicest person was the cleaner.
Noisy party goers until early hours.Superb – Marie from United States – 4 April 2025 (9/10)
It was conveniently located and the bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: The very loud noise from young people very late at night. Sound dampening windows would be useful.
