Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Boutique Hotel Klarov? It’s tucked away on this tiny street – U Zelezne Lavky – that honestly feels more like a local secret than a hotel address. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Charles Bridge, but somehow you’ve escaped all that tourist chaos. The building itself has this understated elegance that screams “I know I’m beautiful but I’m not going to shout about it.” Walking in, there’s this immediate sense of calm – maybe it’s the way they’ve kept some of the original architectural details (those ceiling beams are gorgeous) while adding modern touches that actually make sense.
The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Everything feels intentional, from the lighting that’s actually warm enough to read by, to storage space that suggests someone who travels regularly was involved in the planning. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – Prague can get pretty lively, especially around the Old Town, but the windows here do their job. You’ll still hear the occasional tram if you’re a light sleeper, but it’s more ambient city soundtrack than disruptive noise. The bathrooms deserve a mention too – spacious enough that you’re not doing gymnastics to shower, and the water pressure is consistently good (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re exploring Prague’s cobblestones all day).
Here’s the thing about the location that makes this place work so well – you’re close enough to everything that matters, but you’re on the Mala Strana side of things, which gives you a completely different vibe from staying in the New Town hotel clusters. Walk five minutes toward Kampa Island and you’ll find yourself in one of the most peaceful spots in central Prague. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to grab coffee at 7 AM or which wine bar stays open late without being overrun. Honestly, for a 4-star place with an 8.8 rating, it delivers exactly what those numbers suggest: solid quality without pretension, comfortable without being boring, and positioned in a way that makes your Prague experience feel more authentic. The price point reflects the location and quality – it’s not budget territory, but you’re paying for that perfect balance of accessibility and tranquility that’s pretty hard to find in a city this popular.
The concierge service in Prague can arrange exclusive tours of Prague Castle, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize personalized visits to Charles Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Beautiful property, incredible location, the staff was super helpful and truly make our experience in Prague even better. The hotel is very close to the Charles Bridge, yet not right in the middle of the tourist area, just a few minutes walk from the old town, there is a convenient bus stop right at the corner. The actual property and rooms are very comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was a big hit with our family.
What could be improved: There was absolutely nothing to dislike about The Klarov.Polyxeni from Greece – 23 February 2025 (9/10)
Very good location with a great view of the Prague castle. Super close to the historic center and the metro and tram were right outside the hotel. Olga at the reception was very helpful and polite.
What could be improved: Breakfast buffet could include a few more options.Joanne from Australia – 23 February 2025 (8/10)
Excellent location, 2 minutes walk from Malostranska metro & steps to Prague castle. Less than a 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge and 5 minutes walk to Bake house cafe serving great pastries and coffee ( Australian Standard). Very spacious room, the biggest one we had in our travels and it was great to be able to open a window and let some fresh air in. Fantastic view across to Prague Castle.
What could be improved: The lift is very small and claustrophobic, it is big enough for one person and 2 suitcases and that's a tight fit. The lift weirdly stops between floors so you need to carry your bags either up or down.Megan from Ireland – 28 January 2025 (9/10)
The location of this hotel is better than you can imagine. The city is small enough to easily travel around on foot but also just outside there is a tram service which goes very often. The view we had was looking out onto the castle which was stunning! When checking in there was a lovely younger man working which was very good and chatty. We had noted on our booking that we were there for our anniversary and he congratulated us on this which was very nice of him and also left us a gift in our room. The rooms were very grand and comfortable bedding. Found it a little chilly but we were there in January while it was very cold out (-5 one night). The bathrooms are lovely and the products they provide are very luxurious.
What could be improved: We found the breakfast a little underwhelming. We may have gone down a little too late but we couldn't find milk for cereals or coffees. The coffee machine that morning was also acting up so we couldn't use that properly.Lee from United Kingdom – 19 January 2025 (9/10)
Location excellent, room which was upgraded for our anniversary was superb
What could be improved: Breakfast could have had more choice, toaster didn't work!Amy from United States – 2 January 2025 (9/10)
Location, breakfast, clean.
What could be improved: Nothing.Catherine from United Kingdom – 25 December 2024 (9/10)
Rooms are amazing, beds are so comfy
What could be improved: Breakfast buffet wasn’t the best not many choicesMark from United Kingdom – 13 December 2024 (9/10)
We loved everything. The rooms were very spacious, lovely high ceilings, secondary glazed windows, beautiful clean bathroom with toiletries. Bluetooth speaker and television. Adequate storage, coffee machine, mini bar/fridge.
Lovely selection at breakfast time, juices, tea/coffee, warm/cold food, fresh bread.
What could be improved: Nothing we disliked, would just have liked a bar area to sit and maybe have a drink or coffee on our return at the end of the day. This isn't a complaint and it wouldn't stop us returning!Thomas from Sweden – 13 December 2024 (9/10)
A very nice and charming hotel. Room was spacious and well designed, with views towards the Prague castle. Very close to public transport – both bus, tram and subway…so perfect location if you want to see a bigger part of Prague. Breakfast was very good and tasty.
What could be improved: Unfortunately there was a slight damp odour coming from the bathroom in our room. Probably the pipes need to be cleaned to get rid of it.
