You know, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked up to Bohem Prague Hotel on Plzenská – it’s tucked away in this residential area that feels authentically Prague, not the touristy bubble you get near Old Town Square. The building itself has that classic Central European charm, though honestly, finding the second floor entrance took me a minute (there’s a small sign, but it’s easy to miss if you’re dragging luggage and squinting at addresses).

What really surprised me was how much character this place has for a 3-star hotel. The owners clearly put thought into the details – I mean, the rooms have this bohemian vibe that actually fits the name, not just some marketing gimmick. My room had these quirky vintage touches and artwork that felt curated, not mass-produced hotel generic. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and honestly, the shower had better water pressure than some fancier places I’ve stayed. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the city center, which might sound inconvenient, but it’s actually perfect – you get to see how locals live, plus there’s a great little bakery just down the street that does these incredible koláče pastries. The tram stop is literally two blocks away, and once you figure out Prague’s public transport (which is ridiculously efficient), you’ll appreciate not being in the middle of all that tourist chaos.

Here’s what I really loved about staying here – the staff genuinely seem to care about giving you local insights, not just the standard “here’s your key card” routine. They recommended this wine bar in Vinohrady that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the crowds at Prague Castle, they suggested the best times to go. The breakfast spread is solid – nothing fancy, but fresh bread, good coffee, and those little touches like local honey and proper Czech ham. I will say the rooms can get a bit warm in summer since the building is older, but they provide fans, and opening the windows at night helps. The neighborhood gets quiet after about 10 PM, so if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll actually rest well here. That 8.8 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a luxury hotel – it’s just doing the fundamentals really well while giving you an authentic Prague experience that most visitors completely miss.

  Clean, modern hotel in front of the tram stop. Room was spacious with a bar fridge and small seating area. Breakfast was freshly made eggs and toast. Coffee and tea station with fruits and cakes too. The luggage storage was handy as our flight was later in the day after check out.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing, we enjoyed stay here. The hotel use a mandatory self check in website which some people may not prefer.
