Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about the Belvedere? It’s actually tucked away on Milady Horákové, which most tourists completely miss because they’re busy hunting for hotels right in Old Town. Honestly, that’s exactly why this place works so well. You’re literally a ten-minute tram ride from the chaos of Wenceslas Square, but when you step outside in the morning, you’re surrounded by locals grabbing coffee and walking their dogs instead of selfie sticks and tour groups.

The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – I mean, it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Prague, but there’s something refreshing about that. The lobby smells like good coffee and has these worn leather chairs that actually look like people use them, not like museum pieces. My room was on the third floor (there’s an elevator, thank god, because Prague and stairs are no joke), and honestly, the view wasn’t spectacular or anything, but there’s something nice about looking out at actual Prague neighborhoods instead of just tourist central. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable beds that don’t leave you with a sore back, decent WiFi that actually works when you need to upload photos, and bathrooms that feel modern without being sterile. The heating works well too, which matters more than you’d think during Prague winters.

What really sold me on this place was the staff – they’re the kind of people who remember your name after one conversation and can tell you which tram gets you to the castle without the crowds (take the 22, by the way, and go early). The breakfast isn’t anything revolutionary, but it’s proper – good bread, local cheeses, coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. Parking’s available if you’re brave enough to drive in Prague, though honestly, you won’t need a car from here. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel with little shops and cafes that close on Sundays because, well, that’s what normal places do. There’s a great beer garden about five minutes’ walk away that fills up with locals in the evenings, and the tram stop is close enough that you can hear them coming but not so close that it keeps you awake. I stayed here in both summer and November, and while summer’s obviously prettier, there’s something cozy about this area when it’s cold and the windows are all lit up. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right without any major headaches.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Prague through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich medieval heritage.

Reviews

  • Олег from Ukraine – 22 July 2022 (9/10)

The staff is friendly. The room is cozy and clean, but few outlets in the room. Convenient location.

  • Liel from Israel – 29 March 2025 (8/10)

The light didnt work in the first room, staff were SO nice and upgraded us to an executive room, breakfast was rich and tasty and overall experience was great

  • Michael from Israel – 29 March 2025 (8/10)

Total all was perfect: Breakfast, check-in and checkout flows.

What could be improved: We have the ants in the room.

  • Debra from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (9/10)

Clean and tidy. Efficient lifts. Beautiful breakfast room setting with a plethora of choices to suit everyone’s preferences. Room was very comfortable and airy with a large king sized bed. The advertisement photos matched what we received.

What could be improved: It was a shame that the lobby cafe/bar wasn’t open as it would have been nice to sit and have a drink there after a busy day of sightseeing, however it was just out of season so we understood that.

  • Riz from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (8/10)

    Good location

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Carina from Romania – 19 March 2025 (7/10)

Good location, close to tram station and local shops
Friendly staff and very helpful if needed
    Clean
    Very comfortable beds

What could be improved: Furniture a but too old fashion

  • Enes from Turkey – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

The room was clean and comfortable. For the price one of the best places you can stay. The city center is in a walking distance and there is also tram station on the same street.

  • Донист from Bulgaria – 15 March 2025 (9/10)

The room was clean and cozy.
The hotel is next to tram stop. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant. Good value for money.

What could be improved: Room was at the end of the floor and on a middle floor.

  • Tomáš from Czech Republic – 6 March 2025 (9/10)

Room is very nice and clean. Bathroom was a little small but with a lot of towels, which is nice. The breakfast in the ballrom was amazing. On a side note, I had a prom in that very room 27 years ago, so it was a trip down the memory lane for me.

What could be improved: The windows could be a little better, since there are tram rails on the street and the passing tram is clearly audible. On the other side it did not wake me nor the kids once during the night.

  • Nemanja from Montenegro – 1 March 2025 (9/10)

Very comfy, good location, solid classic hotel, friendly staff
They offered me the storage for my luggage after check-out for the rest of the day for free

What could be improved: Wi-fi wasn't the greatest
