The staff genuinely seemed happy to see me, not just going through the motions, and check-in was refreshingly smooth (no lengthy speeches about amenities I didn’t ask about).

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Kampa Island and the Petřin Hill area – I mean, you can actually see the tower from some of the upper floors if you crane your neck a bit. But here’s the thing locals know: Smíchov has become this quietly cool district with great little cafés and restaurants that haven’t been completely overrun by tour groups yet. There’s a fantastic bakery just around the corner on Újezd that does these incredible koláče, and honestly, walking there for breakfast became my daily ritual. The tram connections are solid too – you can hop on the 12 or 20 and be in Old Town in about fifteen minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re stepping into this much more authentic, lived-in part of the city.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a proper 4-star place, but with thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. Mine had these great blackout curtains (crucial if you’re dealing with jet lag), and the bathroom was spacious enough that I wasn’t bumping into everything. The beds are genuinely comfortable – not just “hotel comfortable” where you’re grateful it’s not terrible, but actually good sleep. I was there during a busy summer week and never had issues with noise, even though Zborovska can get a bit lively with local traffic during rush hour. Parking was surprisingly manageable if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. That 9.6 rating isn’t just inflated review scores – this place delivers on the details that matter when you’re actually living in a space for a few days. It’s the kind of hotel where you find yourself looking forward to coming back at the end of a long day of sightseeing, rather than just viewing it as a place to crash.
