AXA Hotel Overview

You know what surprised me most about the AXA Hotel? It’s actually got this understated confidence that you don’t expect from a 3-star place in Prague. I mean, when you’re walking down Na Porici – and honestly, most tourists are rushing past this street to get to the more obvious Old Town spots – you almost miss it. But that’s sort of the point.

The building itself has this lovely Art Nouveau thing going on, which makes sense because half of Prague 1 was built during that era, but the AXA folks have done something smart with the interior. They’ve kept the original details where it matters (the lobby ceiling is actually worth looking up at) but didn’t go overboard trying to recreate some museum-piece atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable in that European way – not huge, but everything fits properly and the beds are surprisingly good. I stayed on the fourth floor and could hear the trams on Na Porici in the morning, which honestly felt authentic rather than annoying. Though if you’re a light sleeper, maybe mention it when booking.

What really works here is the location, and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way that every hotel claims. You’re literally a five-minute walk to Wenceslas Square, but more importantly, you’re right next to the Florenc metro station – which connects you to both the green and yellow lines. The staff clearly knows this because they actually give you useful directions instead of just pointing vaguely toward “the center.” There’s a Tesco about two blocks away if you need basics, and this little bakery on the corner of Na Porici and Hybernska that does proper Czech pastries (not the tourist versions). The 8.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s one of those places that gets better as you figure out the neighborhood rhythm. Check-in was smooth, they speak decent English, and there’s this relaxed efficiency that suggests they know exactly what they’re doing without making a big show of it. Honestly, for the price point and location, it’s exactly what you want from a Prague stay – comfortable, authentic, and positioned so you can actually experience the city instead of just hitting the major sights.

Great location, clean, large rooms, staff very friendly and accommodating

What could be improved: No air con but there was a fan so it was fine

  • Beautiful Experience – Erken from Turkey – 14 July 2025 (9/10)

Location is so good. Room was smelling so good and clean. View was so nice beacuse of my room at the street side of the hotel. If I come back to Prague, AXA will be my choice again.

What could be improved: The only thing that I didn't like is Locked balcony door :D. I didn't ask to open it anyway.

  • It was a good stay. – Paulina from Poland – 30 June 2025 (8/10)

    It was clean and stylish.

What could be improved: Lack of AC

  • A few nights in Prague – Jordan from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (8/10)

Loved the location, room size, and the decor. It had great vibes here. Breakfast was nice with a range of items on offer. 100% Recommend and would stay again. Staff were always very nice!

  • Superb – Amit from India – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

The location being very close to the Florenc metro station, the staff, who were so polite and kind, and exceptional breaktast with variety.

What could be improved: Nothing really to complain but it would be good if they could provide some more toiletries like toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shampoo instead of just one bottle of all-in-one bodywash.

  • Good night at a good hotel – Sokoban from Czech Republic – 22 June 2025 (9/10)

Perfect central location and good breakfast. Ordered a quiet room and got one. Good and friendly staff at the reception.

  • Nice, not an awesome experience but ok. – Darko from Montenegro – 9 June 2025 (7/10)

    Clean and spot on

What could be improved: Just too basic.

  • Superb – Euphrashia from Canada – 3 June 2025 (9/10)

Rooms were very spacious, staff very helpful, especially Gulsun helped us with lots of information. Martin, Rudolf and Jitka were also very helpful with our questions about getting around the city.

What could be improved: There was no Air Conditioning in the room. We had a table fan. Luckily the temperatures were not that hot outside.

  • The accomodation is very central and is accessible to transport links. The room was so spacious and clean. The staff mad – Kareen from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (8/10)

The location was very central and accessible. The room was so spacious – better than other chain hotels. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

What could be improved: The lack of information about the pool and the gym availability. Both were the main reasons why I booked this property thinking that the pool and the gym were exclusively owned by the hotel. No mention of it being a separate Cost and being open to public on the initial confirmation email. Only to be informed by email few days before our actual trip leaving us no choice but still go ahead with the booking as it’ll cost us more if we cancelled and looked for an alternative accommodation.

  • Awesome – David from United States – 25 May 2025 (8/10)

Everything was great. Breakfast, clean comfortable.

What could be improved: Great property
