Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Avenue Legerova 19,” I figured it was just another generic business hotel with a street address for a name. But you know what? Sometimes the most unassuming places surprise you the most. This four-star spot sits right on Legerova street in Prague’s Vinohrady district, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – actual Czechs going about their daily business, grabbing coffee at local cafés, walking their dogs in the small parks nearby.

The hotel itself feels more like a well-run boutique property than your typical chain place. Check-in was refreshingly quick (I mean, they actually seemed happy to see guests), and the lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard. The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully designed” – nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. Good water pressure, beds that don’t feel like concrete, and windows that actually open if you want fresh air. I particularly appreciated the little touches like decent lighting for reading and enough outlets for all your devices without crawling around on the floor. The whole place has this quiet efficiency about it – you can tell someone who actually stays in hotels designed this space.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how it sits in the city. Vinohrady is one of those Prague neighborhoods that feels authentically Czech without being touristy about it. There’s a great traditional pub called U Fleku about a 15-minute walk away (well, maybe 20 if you stop to admire the Art Nouveau buildings along the way), and the Náměstí Míru metro station is close enough that getting anywhere in Prague is actually simple. The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you stay here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Prague, but it nails all the basics while adding just enough personality to feel special. Plus, and this might sound silly, but the staff genuinely seemed to know their neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure – they told me about the family-run Georgian restaurant two blocks over that locals actually go to. That kind of local knowledge is surprisingly rare these days.

  What could be improved: On the day of my check-in, I kindly asked the reception staff to prepare a sandwich for me, as I would be skipping breakfast the next morning due to an early flight—I had to be at the airport by 5 AM. However, they forgot, and when I left for the airport, the reception was closed and covered with bars, leaving me without the meal.
