Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you. This little spot sits right in Prague 5, which means you’re actually in a proper neighborhood where real Czechs live, not just stumbling around with other tourists taking selfies every five minutes.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re apartments. I mean that in the best way possible – you get actual space to spread out, a kitchenette where you can make proper coffee in the morning (trust me, you’ll want to after trying to navigate Prague’s tram system), and windows that actually open to let in some air. The building’s got this old-school European vibe without being stuffy about it. My place overlooked the street, and honestly, the noise wasn’t bad at all – just the occasional tram rumbling by, which sort of becomes this comforting background sound after a day or two. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in some sterile hotel room.

What really won me over was the location, though I didn’t realize it at first. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the Old Town chaos, but here’s the thing – you’re walking distance from Petřin Hill, which is where locals go to actually enjoy the city views without fighting through crowds at Prague Castle. There’s this little pub around the corner (I think it was called U Fleku? No wait, that’s the famous one… anyway, some local spot) where the beer costs half what you’d pay near Wenceslas Square, and the bartender actually remembered my order by the third night. The Anděl shopping center is close enough if you need anything practical, and honestly, taking the metro from there into the center makes you feel like you’ve figured out Prague’s rhythm instead of just being another tourist who never leaves District 1.

The staff at Avenue runs things pretty smoothly – check-in was straightforward, they gave me actual recommendations (not just the tourist trap stuff), and when my shower started acting weird on day three, someone came up within an hour to sort it out. It’s not fancy, but it works, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s solid, reliable, and you’ll probably end up liking Prague more because you’re staying somewhere that feels real instead of artificial.

  The apartment was perfect and clean.
  
  What could be improved: Customer service nightmare.
  
  Background: They usually send the link for online check-in via WhatsApp. Without that you can't get in, there is no physical front desk.
  
  My fault, there was a wrong phone number on the reservation, so they sent the message but then didn't care if I got it or not.
  I called them several times, texted them via booking.com and my phone (which is ironic because they finally got the right number but yet ..and they got my email too), but they did not respond.
  They only got back to me once via phone call saying in the most helpful way possible, "I sent it!" I don't know if it was a bad day for them, but damn.
  
  I was trying to figure out what the problem was and they didn't help me at all.
  FINALLY they had the moment of realization "Oh yes, we have to support the customer" after the booking.com customer service intervention. It took only 3 hours.
  
  The apartment is perfect but it smelled so bad. Like there is mold.

  Špinavý kávovar, zaneseny od mlieka po predchádzajúcich hosťoch. Museli sme preplachnuť aspoň 40 krát🧐, personál nebol skontrolovať, hoci slubil
