Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first walked into the Atlantic Hotel on Na Poříčí, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s a 3-star place on one of Prague’s busier streets, right? But you know what actually surprised me? The lobby has this old-world charm that feels authentically Czech without trying too hard. The staff behind the reception desk were genuinely helpful (spoke solid English too), and check-in was refreshingly quick, even during that crazy summer rush when half of Europe seems to descend on Prague.

The location is where this place really shines, though they don’t make a big deal about it. You’re literally a 5-minute walk to Náměstí Republiky – I timed it – which puts you right at the entrance to the Old Town without dealing with those touristy hotel prices closer to the square. There’s a tram stop practically outside your door, and honestly, the number 5 tram becomes your best friend for getting around the city. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to that amazing farmer’s market at Jiřího z Poděbrad on Saturday mornings (okay, maybe 15 minutes, but still totally doable). The street itself can get a bit noisy during rush hour – Na Poříčí is kind of a main artery – but by evening it settles down, and the double-glazed windows actually do their job.

The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect for the price point, but cleaned properly and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Prague where the shower was basically a trickle, but here the water pressure was decent and stayed hot. The breakfast spread isn’t going to blow your mind, but there’s proper Czech bread and coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. Actually, the whole vibe of the place feels lived-in rather than corporate – you’ll see the same faces at breakfast, staff who’ve been there for years and actually know the neighborhood. They pointed me toward this little pivnice around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and the beer was half the price of what you’d pay near the castle. Look, it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and real, and sometimes when you’re spending your days wandering cobblestone streets and your evenings in beer halls, that’s exactly what you want to come back to.

The the location is good. Only 5 mins from the Palladium Shopping mall, metro and railway stations. A short walk from from the Main Square with the famous Astronomical Clock. Room is a good size for a weekend break. Bed comfy and toilet / shower room is clean. It is a small hotel but has everything needed for a good breakfast.

The bed was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. We also liked, we could store our luggage while we were went to Italy and before returning to our accomodation at the Atlantic. Also we liked, they will reserve for us the same room as before, 308. We also like to commend the manager Kristyna who is always very caring and helpful.

    Spacious and clean rooms.
    Great breakfast.

What could be improved: The staff was not so friendly and they asked us to park on a “technical” parking space (in front of another car) although we paid in advance for a parking spot. Additionally, the asked us to give them the car key, as an insurance.
