Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to At the Blue Lion & Parking Assistance on Tržiště street, you immediately understand why this four-star property gets such incredible location scores. I mean, you’re literally steps from Prague Castle — and I’m talking about a two-minute walk, not some tourist brochure exaggeration. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, tucked into one of those narrow cobblestone streets that make Prague feel like a fairy tale. What struck me first was how quiet it felt despite being right in the thick of everything.

The Heart of Lesser Town

Here’s what you need to know about this location — it’s actually in Malá Strana (Lesser Town), which honestly might be the most romantic part of Prague. You’re surrounded by baroque palaces, tiny wine bars, and those impossibly picturesque streets that look like movie sets. The castle gardens are your backyard, but you can also walk to Charles Bridge in about eight minutes. I watched couples wandering around at all hours, and you know what? They looked genuinely happy, not just tourist-tired. The 9.9 rating from couples makes total sense when you experience this neighborhood after dark.

Your Room and Comfort

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance — modern comfort without losing that old Prague character. The windows actually open (which sounds basic but isn’t always guaranteed), and if you’re lucky enough to get one facing the castle side, well, you’ll spend way too much time just staring out. The beds are properly comfortable, and the bathrooms are updated without being sterile. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound — these old buildings can be echo chambers, but they’ve clearly put thought into keeping things peaceful.

Practical Perks

The parking assistance part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff — they actually help you navigate Prague’s somewhat chaotic parking situation, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’re genuinely useful for recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward a tiny restaurant around the corner that I never would have found otherwise. The whole operation feels more like a well-run guesthouse than a corporate hotel, if that makes sense.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.1 rating reflects something you can’t fake — this place just works. You’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the crowds that swarm the main squares. The morning walk to get coffee becomes this little adventure through medieval streets, and evening strolls feel genuinely romantic rather than touristy. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned, not because there’s so much to do at the hotel, but because the location makes Prague feel manageable and magical at the same time. Honestly, for couples especially, it’s hard to imagine a better base for exploring the city.

Prague hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town Square to elegant castle-view hotels and modern accommodations near Wenceslas Square.

Prague with friends

Great location, contact from owners very efficient.

What could be improved: A little loud outside until midnight, but earplugs would fix that

Great choice

Very spacious, comfy, well-equipped, quite and clean apartment.
The communication with the apartment owners was perfect. They also provided me very detail and clear instructions for the apartment and storage room keys collection.
A good automatic coffee-machine was also a nice bonus.

What could be improved: No solid curtains.
And I would say the air ventilation in bathroom require a bit cleaning.
But those were the only minor flaws...
