apartricanova Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to apartricanova on Říčanova Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked into this quiet residential area in Prague 6, sort of hidden away from the tourist chaos, which actually turned out to be one of its best features. You know what struck me first? How genuinely peaceful it felt, even though you’re still totally connected to everything that matters in the city.

The thing about this place is that it gets the apartment-hotel concept right in ways that a lot of places mess up. I mean, you’ve got proper kitchens that aren’t just for show – actual counter space, decent cookware, a fridge that doesn’t sound like it’s dying. The rooms feel like someone actually lives there, not like they were designed by a committee who’d never stayed in a hotel themselves. And honestly, after spending weeks in cramped Prague 1 hotels where you can hear every footstep from three floors up, the soundproofing here was a revelation. Říčanova is one of those streets where locals actually live, so evenings are genuinely quiet – no groups of bachelor parties stumbling home at 3 AM.

What really sold me on the area was discovering that you’re basically a ten-minute tram ride from Wenceslas Square, but you’re living like a local in Břevnov. There’s this fantastic little bakery just around the corner that most tourists never find, and if you walk five minutes toward the monastery, you hit this beautiful park area that hardly anyone talks about in guidebooks. The tram connections are actually better than some of the “centrally located” places I’ve stayed – line 22 gets you pretty much anywhere you want to go, and there’s something satisfying about knowing the transport system instead of just taking expensive taxis everywhere. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which if you’ve driven in Prague, you know is basically a miracle. The staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to grab groceries, which pharmacy stays open late, that kind of practical stuff that makes a longer stay actually work. With that 8.9 rating, I expected it to be decent, but this felt more like staying in a really well-run local spot that just happens to cater to travelers who want something more real than the typical hotel experience.

Early hotels booking in Prague is essential during major events like the Prague Spring Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned classical music scene and Gothic architecture.

Reviews of apartricanova

  • Recommend – Liu from Hungary – 12 March 2025 (8/10)

Nice house, very clean, has everything we needed, close to tram station, quiet area, kind owner.

What could be improved: The room we had on the top floor was a bit cold but they gave us warm blankets.
Toilet is separated from the bathroom and is located on the other side of the hallway but we were the only ones using it so not a big problem.

  • Comfortable and enjoyable. – Callaway from United Kingdom – 23 January 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was quite big and had everything we needed. The furnishings were a bit dated but in good condition and comfortable. Although it is slightly outside of Prague Center it has easy access to the tram system, which is very good. The host was extremely helpful with explaining which trams to use and how the ticket system works. Free tram rides for over 65’s is an added bonus.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • In general stay has been pleasant , only toilet could be improved. So bathroom floor could do with some more mats. – Oksana from United Kingdom – 27 December 2024 (8/10)

    Privacy and quietness of room.

What could be improved: Toilet was private but to go there you need to cross corridor. Also lock was hard to close from inside. Simply hook would be nice. Bathroom floor was freezing cold.

  • Exceptional – Victor from United States – 9 May 2024 (10/10)

    Big space and great airflow

  • Superb – Adam from Hungary – 12 July 2023 (9/10)

Quiet neighborhood and good connection to the public transport. The owner was able to sell us tickets. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed.

  • Superb – Emma-lee from Australia – 5 July 2023 (9/10)

Good location, big sized rooms, cute vibes. Nice and quiet. Very helpful and thoughtful owner.

What could be improved: Bathroom and toilet areas were a bit small. Fine for us but could be a struggle for bigger people.

  • Traditional Czech living to feel like a local – Faaiz from United Kingdom – 28 June 2023 (8/10)

We enjoyed having the whole flat to ourselves and being 5 mins from bus and tram stations. The street is super quiet and really safe in a posh neighbourhood. At first i thought we were getting the flat with the balcony but instead we got the attic flat which features a kitchen, large double bed, a separate bed, TV and shower. All the utensils and cook ware provided.

What could be improved: On super hot days plz don’t charge for fans especially on the top floor as the windows dont open much. Otherwise it was very comfortable.

  • Felt like home – Boglárka from Hungary – 30 July 2022 (10/10)

Very helpful owner. Quiet neighbourhood. Felt like home. Had every facility for cooking. Kitchen dining area is very cosy. Big walnut tree under the window.

What could be improved: Walking uphill from tram when coming home. Bath and toilet are small but I didn't mind.

  • Great place to stay for a 2+1 family. – Irek from Poland – 13 February 2025 (9/10)

Great, quiet location, free parking, convenient tram connection to the city center.

    What could be improved: None.

  • The place meets our expectation. We would like better wi-fi, but other than that, it was fine. – Luboš from Czech Republic – 24 August 2024 (9/10)

The place was perfect, near to the public transport, restaurants anything we required. Moreover even when it is near anything mentioned before it is a quiet and nice place. I like this city area.

What could be improved: The wi-fi was very weak almost unusable in the apartment. When we want to have a strong signal we must go elsewhere. It was not easy to change the air as there was only small window in the flat.
