Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Prague, and this apartment on Bílkova absolutely nailed it. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, these people get it”? That’s what happened here. The location is honestly ridiculous – I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Astronomical Clock, but somehow you’re tucked away on this quiet cobblestone street that feels like a local secret.

The apartment itself has this perfect mix of old Prague charm and actually functional modern stuff. The ceilings are high and dramatic (very Czech), but they’ve got proper Wi-Fi and a kitchen that actually works – not one of those sad European kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and prayers. I spent most mornings making coffee and planning my day from the windows that look out onto the medieval streets below. You can hear the city waking up, but it’s never overwhelming. Well, except maybe on Friday nights when the beer tour groups get a little enthusiastic, but honestly that’s just Prague being Prague.

What really struck me was how the owners clearly live here themselves – or at least understand how people actually travel. There’s good lighting for reading, proper hangers in the closet, and they left recommendations for the bakery around the corner on Dlouhá Street (absolutely go there for morning pastries, trust me). The shower has decent water pressure, which sounds boring but you’ll appreciate it after walking 20,000 steps on those cobblestones. The whole place feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. I actually found myself hanging out there in the evenings instead of immediately rushing out to the bars – which, coming from someone who usually treats hotel rooms like a place to crash, is saying something. The only tiny thing I’d mention is that the stairs are a bit steep (it’s an old building), but honestly that’s true for half of Old Town anyway. This place just works, you know?
