You know what caught me off guard about Apartment House – The Modern Flat? The name actually undersells it. I mean, yeah, it’s technically apartments, but walking into that lobby on Soukenická 7, you’d never guess you’re not in a proper boutique hotel. The whole setup feels more polished than half the chain hotels I’ve stayed at in Prague.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting it. Soukenická runs right through New Town, and you’re maybe a seven-minute walk to Wenceslas Square – close enough that you don’t need to plan your day around metro schedules, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos every time you step outside. There’s this little café called Louvre (not related to the museum, obviously) just around the corner that locals actually go to, which I discovered completely by accident when I was wandering around jet-lagged at 6 AM. The street itself is pretty quiet – I was worried about noise since it’s central, but honestly, Prague’s old buildings are thick, and I slept fine even with the windows cracked open.

What really sold me on the place was how they’ve managed to make these apartment-style rooms feel like actual homes without that sterile extended-stay vibe. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show – they’ve got proper full-size fridges and decent cookware, which came in handy since Prague’s food scene is amazing but can get heavy after a few days. I actually picked up ingredients at the Tesco on Národní (about a ten-minute walk) and made breakfast a couple mornings. The staff at check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no overselling amenities or pushing restaurant reservations, just “here’s your key card, WiFi password is on the desk, call if you need anything.” Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but everything works exactly as it should, and there’s something to be said for that kind of reliability when you’re dealing with travel fatigue and just want your room to be a comfortable base. Plus, and this might sound random, but the elevators are actually fast, which you don’t appreciate until you’ve stayed somewhere with those ancient cage elevators that take forever.

  The property is in a great location and the house is clean.

  Location of the flat is easily one of the best in town. Located just a minute away from the main street with trams taking you all around the city, including the castle. About 5 minutes walk from Palladium (massive shopping centre) and 10 minutes from the main square, featuring the famous clock, choosing this property is a no brainer. Despite being located in the centre, it was really quiet at night and couldn't really hear anything going outside. There's parking available for an additional charge, located just a few minutes away from where you'd be staying. It's one of those automated "storage" car parks, so prepare yourself to wait a few minutes to get your car back!
  Rick was an amazing host, communicating way prior to our arrival to ensure everything was up to speed. Clear, friendly and helpful – couldn't have asked for more.
  The flat itself is a decent size, featuring a bed and a reclining sofa, so can easily fit up to four adults if you're thinking of popping out for the weekend. We were travelling with an infant and though a cot wasn't available during our stay, Rick let us know in advance so we could arrange something ourselves.
  Overall, great experience and couldn't recommend enough for a few days getaway.
  
  What could be improved: Some of the lighting was not working at the time, so the flat could feel a bit dark in the evening (stayed in December), but nothing too extreme.

  The place was in a great location and was very clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There was a hairdryer, hob and other useful amenities.
  
  What could be improved: The room was much smaller than we had anticipated based on the photos, but it was ok. The towels provided were small, more like hand towels than body towels.

  What could be improved: it was very hot and the property didnt have fans. the ac unit was located in the sitting area but not in the rooms. it was too hot to sleep in the bedrooms. the ac unit wasn’t sufficient enough to cool the premises.

  My bus was late however Dejan managed to come to apartment as per agreed time and greeted us warmly and explained details of the apartment. During check out Dejan arrived 1 minute ago and completed check out.
  
  Location is excellent, near to river old town is 10 min walking distance and good restaurants nearby area.
  
  What could be improved: The loft height is low so need to be very careful while getting up from bed.
