Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Aparthotel Wenceslas? The address says V Jámě 7, which honestly sounds like it could be tucked away in some obscure corner, but you’re actually just a couple minutes’ walk from Wenceslas Square. I mean, you step out the front door and within five minutes you’re standing where the Velvet Revolution happened – there’s something pretty cool about that proximity to history, even if you’re just grabbing coffee in the morning.
The thing about this place is it feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need, rather than just checking boxes. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be suites – have these solid kitchenettes where you can actually cook something decent. I’m talking full-sized fridges, not those mini-bar things that barely fit a sandwich. The living areas have enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. The furnishings are sort of modern-comfortable rather than fancy-uncomfortable, if that makes sense – you can actually relax on the couch without worrying about messing up some designer piece.
What really works here is the neighborhood vibe. V Jámě connects to some of the older streets that still have that authentic Prague feel – you know, the kind of cobblestones that haven’t been completely polished for tourists yet. There’s this great little pub called U Fleku about ten minutes away (it’s been brewing beer since 1499, which is just ridiculous when you think about it), and you can wander toward Národní Street for proper Czech restaurants where locals actually eat. The area gets busy during the day with people heading to and from the square, but evenings are surprisingly quiet – I was expecting more noise being this central, but the building seems pretty well insulated. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal hotel theater, just friendly people who seem to know the neighborhood well enough to give you actual useful recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the most expensive restaurants. For a 3-star place, that 8.8 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be luxurious, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like Prague.
Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.

What could be improved: Everything was good.Amazing – Courtney from United Kingdom – 20 June 2025 (10/10)
Amazing price and space
What could be improved: NothingAMAZING location, huge rooms, fully equiped. No elevator, communication is a bit hard, – Dorit from Israel – 27 April 2025 (9/10)
The location is great. Almost everything is within walking distance, and there are trams very close by. The appartment itself was also great – realy big rooms each with a double bed, closet, sofa and table. The appartment had two restrooms, and all the required facilities – refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and more. We could cook and save money (and calories). There is a supermarket two minutes from the building.
What could be improved: There is no elevator. We were on the first floor but it was still hard with the laugage. There is no real "reception" and I felt like I had to nudge till I got answers. When I asked more than one question, I would get answer only to the first one and need to ask again for the others. Also there was a misunderstanding from my side, but because there is no real reception it caused us inconvinience. I want to emphasize that the misunderstanding was from my side, but in a hotel it wouldn't have happened because there are people there 24-7Our recommendations! What could be improved: –Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Definitely priced well priced for size and especially location. Seamless self-chec – Jason from United States – 22 December 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location! Great layout: three separate bedrooms.
What could be improved: Needs newer cookware.Very good – Louise from Australia – 17 December 2024 (8/10)
The location was close enough to walk to everything but also allowed time away from the crowds of Prague. The apartment was spacious and clean.
What could be improved: The kitchen had basic utensils for cooking but this was a minor complaint. Be aware that there is no lift and if you are on the upper floors the stairs can be a killer at the end of a long day exploring 😉Exceptional – Juna from Georgia – 13 December 2024 (10/10)
