Aparthotel Austria Suites

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
Štefánikova 25, Prague, 150 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Aparthotel Austria Suites on Štefánikova street, you immediately get that “this feels right” vibe. It’s one of those three-star places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — just solid, comfortable, and honestly pretty smart about what travelers actually need. The building has this understated European charm that fits perfectly into the neighborhood without screaming “tourist hotel.” The welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for your entire stay, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in Prague — location can make or break your trip, and this place absolutely nails it. You’re in Smíchov, which I know sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Czech, but it’s actually one of the best-kept secrets for visitors. You can walk to the city center without feeling like you need a sherpa, but you’re also in a real neighborhood where locals actually live and work. There’s parking right on site too, which — trust me — is worth its weight in gold if you’re driving in Prague. The convenient access to public transportation makes exploring the city effortless.

The Apartment Experience

What sets this place apart is that you’re getting an apartment, not just a room. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette, which means you can actually make coffee the way you like it in the morning or grab groceries from the local market and have a proper meal. The spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile — you know what I mean? Like someone actually thought about how people use a space when they’re away from home for more than just sleeping. This thoughtful design extends to every corner of the accommodations.

Why Couples Keep Coming Back

I get why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. There’s something about having your own little Prague apartment that feels more intimate than a standard hotel room. You can cook breakfast together, spread out your maps and guidebooks, and actually relax without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. Plus, the neighborhood has some genuinely great local spots for dinner — the kind of places where you’ll see more Czech couples than tour groups. The romantic ambiance combined with practical amenities creates the perfect retreat.

Why Guests Love It

Honestly, it comes down to this: Aparthotel Austria Suites gets the balance right between independence and service. You have the freedom of your own space but with the backup of hotel amenities when you need them. The location score speaks for itself — when locals and repeat visitors consistently rate an area this highly, you know you’re onto something good. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but for the price point and the experience you get, it’s pretty hard to beat. Guests consistently praise the value and quality of their stays.

Exceptional

The breakfast is brought to the door in a small basket. The refrigerator already had ham, butter and yogurt.

What could be improved: A pretty cobweb was hanging from the ceiling.
The small kitchen has no ventilation, so when the toaster is used, the smell is unpleasant.
There is no coffee maker. It is true we were offered instant coffee and coffee milk, just instant coffee is too strong for my taste. There are cheap coffee makers at c. €10–12, I think such a property can afford one per room.

Superb

The staff was excellent.

What could be improved: The balcony railing. It's possible for things to fall easily. It's nice if it's at least half enclosed with plexiglass or something similar.
