Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Antik Hotel Prague? It’s tucked away on Dlouha Street in a way that feels deliberately hidden – like someone wanted to keep this place a secret from the tour bus crowds. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Old Town Square, but somehow you’ve escaped into this quieter pocket where actual Praguers grab their morning coffee.

The building itself has that authentic Habsburg-era charm that so many hotels try to fake with tacky reproductions. Here, the original details are just… there. High ceilings with ornate molding, creaky wooden floors that tell stories, and these impossibly tall windows that let in streams of that golden Prague light (especially amazing in late afternoon, honestly). My room had this vintage writing desk that I actually used – when’s the last time you can say that about hotel furniture? The bathrooms are updated enough to feel luxurious but they didn’t gut all the character in the renovation, which happens way too often in this city.

What really sets this place apart is how the staff treats you like you’re staying at their family’s place rather than just processing you through. The front desk guy – I think his name was Pavel – gave me these incredibly specific directions to avoid the tourist traps and find the good goulash (spoiler alert: it’s at U Fleků, but go before 7 PM or you’ll wait forever). The breakfast spread is proper Czech with excellent coffee, though fair warning – it gets busy around 9 AM when everyone’s trying to fuel up for castle visits. Location-wise, you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters but far enough from Wenceslas Square that you won’t hear drunk backpackers at 2 AM. Parking is… well, it’s Prague, so good luck with that, but there’s a garage about two blocks away that won’t completely bankrupt you. The 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails everything that actually matters when you’re exploring this incredible city.

A very good hotel, great location close to the Astronomical clock. Room was well equipped, nicely decorated and the reception is staffed by the most welcoming of people, cannot ask for more.

What could be improved: The bed was a little hard for me but it's just personal taste. Would stay again.

  • Katarína from Slovakia – 14 February 2025 (9/10)

great location, hotel in a small historic building but the rooms are modern with nice design.
heating was good in a cold day.

    quiet hotel, good sleep

What could be improved: the wifi was not working properly

  • Melanie from United Kingdom – 10 February 2025 (9/10)

Amazing location, near to everything you'd want to be near to. Room was really nice, spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast was good and staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

What could be improved: The smoke alarm in my room was flashing every few seconds, it was bright enough that during the night I had to cover my eyes to sleep. On the second night the WiFi also stopped working for some reason. Both not huge things but brought my score down from 10.

  • Christopher from United Kingdom – 31 January 2025 (9/10)

Great location. Good breakfasts and lots of options. Nice and clean. Friendly staff.

What could be improved: The only thing missing was a bar to have a drink but having said this the location is so good there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance

  • Grace from United Kingdom – 27 January 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: I honestly can’t say anything bad!

  • Theodora from Greece – 19 January 2025 (9/10)

Honestly it was the best hotel we’ve stayed in such a long time! They cleaned every day and changed the towels, really close to the square like 3 minutes walking distance! I recommend everyone this hotel worth the hype!
