I wasn’t expecting much from Anna Hotel when I first walked up to Budečská 17 – it’s this quiet residential street in Vinohrady that honestly feels more like where locals live than where tourists usually end up. But that’s actually what makes this place special. The building itself has that classic Prague charm without trying too hard, and when you step inside, it’s clear someone put real thought into making a 3-star place feel… well, better than most 3-star places have any right to feel.

The neighborhood thing is huge here – I mean, you’re about a 15-minute walk from the main tourist chaos around Wenceslas Square, but you’re also right where actual Praguers grab their morning coffee and evening beer. There’s this great little tram stop nearby that’ll get you anywhere you need to go, and honestly, the walk into the city center is pretty lovely if the weather’s decent. The staff seems to get that most guests aren’t familiar with this part of town, so they’re genuinely helpful about directions and restaurant recommendations (not just the touristy ones, either). I noticed they keep the lobby pretty quiet – no blasting music or crowds of tour groups checking in all at once, which was refreshing after some of the more hectic places I’ve stayed in Prague.

What really surprised me was how well they handle the details that usually get overlooked at smaller hotels. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, the rooms are properly soundproofed (crucial in a city where trams run until midnight), and they’ve got this efficient but personal check-in process that doesn’t feel rushed. The whole place has this calm, residential vibe that makes sense once you realize you’re basically staying in a neighborhood hotel rather than a tourist machine. That 8.7 rating isn’t just politeness – it’s people recognizing when a place does the fundamentals really well without any flashy nonsense. If you’re the type who’d rather discover Prague from a local perspective instead of being surrounded by other visitors 24/7, this is exactly the kind of base camp you want.
