Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Angel City Aparthotel on Ostrovského, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem absolutely proved that point.

The thing about this location is that it’s actually perfect if you know Prague at all. You’re tucked away on a quieter street (thank god, because Prague’s main tourist drags can be absolutely chaotic), but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you can walk to Wenceslas Square without breaking a sweat, and there’s this fantastic little bakery just around the corner that locals hit up every morning – I’m talking proper Czech pastries, not tourist trap stuff. The aparthotel itself has this understated vibe that I really appreciated. The lobby’s nothing fancy, but the staff actually knows what they’re doing, and check-in was refreshingly quick. What really sold me though were the apartments themselves – they’re properly equipped kitchenettes, not those sad hotel “kitchens” with a mini-fridge and a prayer. You’ve got real counter space, decent cookware, and honestly, after eating out for days in Prague (your wallet will understand), being able to grab groceries from the Tesco down the street and cook something simple was a lifesaver.

The rooms are clean and comfortable in that no-nonsense European way – solid beds, good water pressure in the shower, and windows that actually keep the street noise out. Speaking of which, this area gets pretty quiet at night, which is rare for central Prague. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and while the main squares were still packed with tourists, our street felt almost residential. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me because this place just… works. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, there’s no pretentious design elements or overpriced minibar nonsense. What you get is a solid base for exploring Prague that won’t drain your budget, with enough space to actually unpack your suitcase and feel human again. The neighborhood has character too – there’s a proper Czech pub two blocks over where I never heard a word of English, and one of those old-school pharmacies with the green cross that’s been there forever. If you’re the type who wants to experience Prague beyond the castle and the astronomical clock (though obviously do those too), Angel City gives you a genuine foothold in a part of the city that still feels lived-in rather than performed.

  There was a mix up with my apartment when I got there but was given the same type of apartment one floor above. The next day I was offered my originally booked apartment. The host Natali was very apologetic and reliable in her communication with me. Both apartments I stayed in were very clean and in good condition. The area is great. You have a bus connection that takes you to the airport within 45 minutes, you have a tram 7 minutes walk away that brings you everywhere in the city centre. Theres a great shopping mall 5 minutes walk away. I felt safe in the property. The kitched was well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom in apartment number 5 needs some renovation/modernisation. Nothing else to mention.

  Location is very good! There is a restraunt just just 10min walking to get the place with shopping, eating, buses.

  The location is very convenient — close to tram stations, the underground, and a Lidl supermarket. A big shopping mall is just a 10-minute walk away. The area is quiet, yet still close to the city centre. The flat was clean and equipped with everything you need’d even for a long stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable — it felt like home.

  The apartment has an incredible location. It's not a touristy area, so it's really quiet, but it is very conveniently located close to the city centre. It's a 2 minute walk to the bus from the airport, a 5 minute walk to the trams to different parts of Prague, 2 minute walk to Lidl and 5 minutes to a big shopping centre. The administration staff was helpful with directions and local tips and quick with their answers. Petr left detailed instructions to everything. It was easy to find keys and there are luggage lockers available even before check in and after check out. The kitchen unit in the room comes with everything you might need, including coffee, tea and sugar. The beds are extremely comfortable, perfect after a long day of sightseeing. There was also a balcony in our room, which was great.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was great – there was a small problem with the sink when we checked in, and it was immediately resolved by the administration staff.
