You know what? The Anette Hotel is one of those places that actually gets Prague right. I mean, when you’re walking down Tr. Svornosti – which honestly, most tourists can’t even pronounce – you almost miss it at first. It’s tucked into this quiet residential street that feels more like where locals live than where visitors usually end up, and that’s exactly why it works.

The building itself has that understated Czech charm – not the flashy baroque stuff you see plastered all over the Old Town Square, but the real deal. Three stars on paper, sure, but it punches above its weight in ways that matter. The rooms are clean and surprisingly spacious for Prague standards (and trust me, hotel rooms here can be shoebox-tiny). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – you’re far enough from the party crowds stumbling back from Wenceslas Square, but still close enough that you can walk to the castle area without your feet wanting to fall off. The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. They’ll point you toward that little bakery around the corner instead of the tourist trap versions.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Prague – you end up feeling less like a tourist and more like you’re just… living there for a bit. The tram connections are solid (line 22 is your friend), and honestly, some mornings I’d grab coffee from the local spot down the street and just watch the city wake up. The hotel itself doesn’t try too hard with fancy amenities, but what they do have works well. Decent wifi, good water pressure, and – this might sound small but it matters – proper blackout curtains for those summer nights when the sun doesn’t set until after 9 PM. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it won’t disappoint you either. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want in Prague, where the city itself is the main attraction anyway.

  Breakfast. I needed to ate earlier staff had no problem to arrange that for me.
  
  What could be improved: Hotel allocated accommodation cost on my debit card few days before, than I paid for my room on the arrival again, so for 1 night stay, my money was allocated for more than 5 days.

  The bed was super super comfy which I wasn't expecting it to be and the sheets were really high quality fine cotton which felt wonderful. It was clean. clean towels everyday. Very convenient tram stop just around the corner and a little shop for snacks. Not too far walk from subway at Andel. Restaurants is this area much cheaper than around square and plenty of choice.
  
  What could be improved: bathroom layout – too cramped and kept hitting my toes on the shower door frame at the bottom when getting in and out – the edge came really keen. But it was clean. No English TV channels and the TV was to the side of the bed. probably shouldn't grumble for what we paid it met our needs.
