Amazing Charles Bridge Apartment

Prague, Czech Republic
Dražického náměstí 10, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of Prague apartments over the years, and this one on Dražického náměstí actually surprised me. I mean, when you first walk up to number 10, it doesn’t look like much from the street – just another weathered building in Malá Strana. But once you’re inside, it’s got this perfect balance of being nicely renovated without losing that old Prague character that makes you feel like you’re actually living in the city, not just passing through.

The location is honestly ridiculous – and I say that in the best way possible. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Charles Bridge, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re on the Malá Strana side, which means you get to approach the bridge from the less touristy direction. Plus, being on that little square puts you right in the heart of the neighborhood where actual Praguers grab their morning coffee and groceries. I’d walk out in the morning and there’d be locals heading to work, not just crowds of tourists with selfie sticks. The tram stop at Malostranské náměstí is maybe three minutes away (I timed it because, well, Prague public transport timing matters), so getting anywhere in the city is pretty effortless.

What really sold me on this place, though, were the little details that you don’t get in most short-term rentals. The windows are properly double-glazed, which might not sound exciting until you realize how much street noise that blocks out – especially important since you’re in such a central spot. The kitchen actually has decent cookware, not just the bare minimum, and there’s a proper Czech coffee maker if you want to skip the café scene some mornings. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience stuff like this; it’s clear someone who understands travelers put thought into the setup. The shower has solid water pressure (always a gamble in these old buildings), and the heating works properly – crucial if you’re visiting in winter when Prague gets properly cold. Honestly, the only minor thing I’d change is maybe adding some thicker curtains in the bedroom, but that’s being picky. The whole place just feels like someone’s well-maintained home rather than a sterile rental property, which makes all the difference when you’re trying to settle in for more than just a night or two.

Great location! Plenty of room for our family. Air conditioning worked great. The host was super helpful in providing recommendations on dining, etc.
