Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of fancy hotels in Prague, but the Alchymist Prague Castle Suites honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, this is different”? That’s exactly what happened here. The building itself sits on Sněmovní street, which honestly most tourists never even notice because they’re too busy rushing up to the castle, but that’s actually perfect because you get this incredible proximity to Prague Castle without the constant crowd noise that plagues some of the more obvious luxury spots.
The whole vibe is part boutique hotel, part private residence – I mean, there are only a handful of suites, so it feels more like you’re staying at some wealthy Prague aristocrat’s place rather than a typical hotel. The interiors are seriously stunning, with this mix of baroque details and contemporary touches that could easily feel overdone but somehow works perfectly. What really got me was the attention to small things that most places just ignore – the lighting is actually comfortable for reading (you’d be surprised how rare that is), the bathroom marble stays warm underfoot, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Central Europe. The staff knows your name within hours, not because they’re trying too hard, but because the place is intimate enough that they actually can.
Here’s what you should know practically speaking – parking can be tricky in this part of Malá Strana, but they’ll sort you out with options, and honestly, you won’t need a car anyway since you’re literally a three-minute walk from the castle grounds and maybe ten minutes down to Charles Bridge if you take the scenic route through the lesser town squares. The neighborhood gets wonderfully quiet in the evenings, especially compared to the chaos around Old Town Square, but you’re still close enough to all the good restaurants on Nerudova street. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and while I can imagine it gets busier in summer, the hotel’s size means it never feels crowded. The 9.4 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the biggest or flashiest place in Prague, but everything they do, they do really well. If you’re the type who appreciates genuine luxury over Instagram-friendly amenities, and you want to experience Prague Castle area like you actually live there rather than just visit, this place delivers on that promise.

Their manager gave us a brief tour at the time of our check-in. We were given a brief introduction about the history of the building and the surrounding area. It was such a nice gesture that made us feel valued and welcome as their guests 🙂 Everything about the hotel is perfect!

Heaven – fabulous staff in a beautiful buulding – Paul from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful rooms and building, exceptional staff who looked after our every need. Breakfast had fabulous tea, and the omelettes were really special. The complimentary wine in our room was very good. The jacuzzi room was very well equipped and relaxing. Location is quiet, and yet a short walk to the castle and other sites. I'd booked this trip for my partners birthday, we might have to come back every year, because I can't see how we will find anywhere more romantic or perfect in every way.
Exceptional – Catherine from Isle of Man – 11 April 2025 (10/10)

A lovely stay. – Susan from Singapore – 6 April 2025 (10/10)
A lovely stay. Highly recommended. Close to major sights and public transportation. Excellent breakfast and service. Very friendly staff. Decor is magnificent. Fresh flowers in common areas. Bedroom and bathroom are well lit. There is also a dimmer for the lights. Plenty of room in the cupboards and drawers.
Exceptional – David from Australia – 25 March 2025 (10/10)
Excellent staff and room in an amazing location. Staff go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and well looked after. Little touches like the free wine and cheese evenings were fantastic!
