You know what struck me first about Adeba Plus? It’s tucked away on Pernerova Street in a way that feels deliberately low-key – like someone picked this spot because they actually know Prague, not because it looked good on a map. I mean, you’re in Karlín, which honestly most tourists skip right over, but that’s exactly why it works so well.

The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense vibe that you get with good four-star places in this city. Nothing flashy, but when you walk into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that someone’s paying attention to details. The staff actually seem to know what they’re doing – I watched them handle a complicated group check-in without breaking a sweat, and they switched between Czech, English, and German like it was nothing. The rooms are what you’d hope for at this level, though I’ll be honest, the bathrooms are better than the photos suggest. Good water pressure too, which… well, if you’ve stayed in enough European hotels, you know that’s not always a given.

But here’s the thing that really works about this place – the location is sort of perfect in this understated way. You’re a quick tram ride from Old Town (the 8 tram is right there), but you’re staying in an actual neighborhood where Prague people live and work. There’s a great little coffee place called Café Savoy just around the corner that locals hit up in the mornings, and honestly, walking through Karlín in the early evening feels like you’re seeing the city without the tourist filter. The Vltava is maybe a ten-minute walk, and if you’re into that sort of thing, the whole area around Karlínské náměstí has some really solid restaurants that don’t feel like they’re performing for visitors. I stumbled into Lokál Karlín one night – just this excellent, unpretentious spot doing traditional Czech food properly.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Prague’s center can be… well, let’s just say the bachelor parties don’t make it out to Pernerova Street. You’ll sleep well here. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything works the way it should, the staff know their stuff, and you end up in this sweet spot where you’re connected to everything but not drowning in crowds. If you’re the type who’d rather discover a neighborhood than just tick off monuments, this is your place.
