The name makes it sound like some massive chain hotel, but it’s actually this really well-done apartment setup right in the heart of Prague’s Old Town. I mean, you’re literally on Husova Street – which, if you’ve never been, is one of those cobblestone lanes where you can practically reach out and touch the medieval buildings on both sides.

The thing about staying here is that you get all the space and kitchen facilities of an apartment (honestly, the kitchens are way better equipped than most places I’ve stayed), but with proper hotel-style service when you need it. The apartments themselves feel authentically Prague – high ceilings, those gorgeous old windows that actually open properly, and you can hear the gentle hum of the city without the crazy noise you’d get on the main tourist drags. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and while you could definitely hear people walking on the cobblestones below, it wasn’t disruptive – more like ambient city soundtrack, if that makes sense.

What really won me over was the location intelligence. Sure, you’re close to all the must-sees (Charles Bridge is literally a five-minute walk), but you’re also positioned where actual Praguers go about their business. There’s this little grocery store around the corner that locals use, and honestly, grabbing fresh bread and coffee there in the morning became my favorite ritual. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel – thick walls, proper doors that close with a satisfying thunk – but everything inside feels thoughtfully updated. The Wi-Fi actually works well (not always a given in these old buildings), and I never had issues with hot water or heating, which can be hit-or-miss in Prague’s historic properties. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that gets the big things right without trying to oversell you on fancy amenities you don’t really need. If you’re the type who likes having your own space to spread out after a day of sightseeing, but still wants to feel plugged into the real rhythm of the city, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

What could be improved: Although we were aware that the apartment was facing the street and some noise would be expected, external noise insulation was non existent.

Location is unbeatable! The apartment is super spacious, clean, and the bed is very comfortable. The host was very prompt to sort out our problem with turning the heating on!

What could be improved: The kitchen could use some more utensils and basic cooking supplies such as oil and seasoning (as most apartments like these provide them). However great value for money so not a deal breaker.

Our booking was upgraded as the apartment we originally booked required repairs. We were swiftly rebooked and upgraded into a different apartment in the same area. We really liked how responsive and accommodating the staff were. We stayed at the Chateau 9 apartments, the apartment was very spacious. It had a small kitchen great to make breakfast and small meals. It was always realy warm and cosy in the apartment. It's in the centre of Old Town - less than a 5min walk from Old Town Square (super helpful for the Christmas markets). Local supermarkets, cafés and restaurants nearby. Everywhere in Prague is walkable. 15min walk to the popular bridge, 30min walk to the castle. Really great location.

What could be improved: It's a non-issue and this is not unusual for Europe either - but it has a very small elevator so either pack light or be prepared to carry your bags or send your bags up by elevator and walk up the stairs.
