20 seconds to Charles Bridge Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first heard the name 20 seconds to Charles Bridge, I thought it was just clever marketing. But you know what? They’re not kidding around — this four-star property really is that close to Prague’s most famous landmark. I mean, you can literally roll out of bed and be standing on one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval bridges before you’ve even had your morning coffee. The building itself sits on a quiet cobblestone street that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos, even though you’re right in the thick of everything.
Location Magic
The location is honestly what makes this place special — couples seem to get it because they’ve rated the spot 9.9 for romantic trips, and I totally understand why. You’re in Prague‘s Lesser Town, which is sort of like being in a fairy tale that happens to have really good restaurants and wine bars. The castle looms above you, the bridge is right there, and yet you’re tucked away on this peaceful little street where locals actually live. I loved watching people discover that they could walk to Old Town Square in about five minutes, or climb up to Prague Castle without dealing with any tourist transport.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect blend of modern comfort and old-world charm that you hope for in Prague but don’t always get. The windows — and this matters more than you’d think — actually open properly so you can hear the city waking up in the morning. There’s something magical about listening to the early morning footsteps on cobblestones while you’re still cozy in bed. The bathrooms are well-designed (important after long days of walking around the city), and honestly, the beds are just really comfortable, which isn’t always a given in historic European properties.
Daily Rhythms
What I really appreciated was how the hotel works with Prague’s natural rhythm rather than fighting against it. Mornings are quiet and peaceful — you can actually enjoy that famous bridge before the tour groups arrive. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’ll tell you which restaurant has the best goulash or where to find a proper Czech beer hall that locals actually frequent. There’s no on-site spa, but honestly, with the castle gardens and riverside walks right outside your door, you don’t really need manufactured relaxation.
Why Guests Love It
The thing about 20 seconds to Charles Bridge is that it delivers on its promise without any gimmicks. You’re not paying for fancy amenities you won’t use — you’re paying for a location that lets you experience Prague the way it’s meant to be experienced. I watched other guests come back each evening with that slightly amazed look people get when a trip is going better than expected. The 8.4 rating makes sense because while it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, it absolutely nails what matters most: putting you right in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities without the usual tourist hotel compromises.

What could be improved: The bed was too softBeautiful today in the heart of Prague ideal for short trip – Robin from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Duvet was half sizePerfect location – everything you need for a few nights in Prague – Ben from United Kingdom – 16 January 2025 (9/10)
The location was amazing – lovely street, description does not lie, literally 20 seconds to charles bridge, as well as there being lots of other things to do and explore right on the doorstep. It was very easy to collect the key with no issues. The flat was lovely and there was an extra bedroom which we weren't expecting, nice living room area and TV with Netflix account included, kitchen area with kettle and nespresso machine as well as cutlery. Heated flooring in the bathroom. Overall we had a great stay – thanks 🙂
What could be improved: The only issue was that one of the radiators didn't work and so in December the living area was quite cold. The radiator in the bedroom was working great though and the bedroom felt very cosy. Not quite what I was expecting – Nancy from Hong Kong – 28 October 2024 (7/10)
Fabulous location! The lesser city is definitely the place to stay.
Good heat
Apartment is charming
What could be improved: Keys did not work well
Only one set of keys furnished
Not a 2-bdrm like you’d expect. The two bedrooms are connected by an open doorway, so any light or sound in one room is also in the other room. Plus, to get from rear bedroom to common areas you have to pass through the front bedroom
Three flights upGreat location, but with 3 flights of steep stairs to get there. – Lubi from Australia – 22 September 2024 (8/10)
Clean, fantastic bed, good location.
What could be improved: Steep stairs to get to the flat, no actual door between the bedrooms ( just a curtain). Not the place for two couples seeking some privacy.Very good – Tatiana from Georgia – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location! The property is quite small but cozy and nice.
What could be improved: The flat is on the top floor and has high stairs.Perfect choice for overnight stay – Oleksandra from Germany – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
The location was nice, I had struggles with how to get a key, but personal was nice and helped me quickly. it doesn't have a panoramic view to a river, but definitely has an unforgettable historical vibe!
What could be improved: it's really cozy inside, but sadly we was in middle of August, and it was hot there. Lucky for us there was a ventilator !No air-conditioning. 3d floor near of Karl's Bridge:)at the end of the day, after walking, it was difficult to get up to the apartment.Everything was as described, just be aware of stairs – Yvonne from United States – 7 August 2024 (8/10)
There was no breakfast
What could be improved: I was not aware that we had to walk 4 flights of stairs
No elevatorFantastic apartment and great location – Thomas from United Kingdom – 21 July 2024 (9/10)
Great location and tidy, comfortable apartment with good facilities and enough space. Charles Bridge and other tourist attractions are only around the corner!
What could be improved: The only negative is the 3 steep staircases to get up to the apartment. May be an issue if someone isn’t very mobile and stays here.Excellent flat, well appointed in an excellent location. – Paul from Canada – 27 May 2024 (9/10)
Excellent proximity to everything we wanted to see and do.
What could be improved: Four flights of uneven stairs to walk up – this is understandable for the type of building and the area but could be an issue for people with mobility issues. Did not affect our enjoyment of the property.
