20 seconds to Charles Bridge Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “20 seconds to Charles Bridge,” I rolled my eyes a little. Hotels love to exaggerate their proximity to landmarks, you know? But this one actually delivers on that promise, and I mean literally. I timed it once (because I’m that kind of person), and it’s more like thirty seconds if you walk at a normal pace, but who’s counting when you’re practically stepping out your door onto one of Europe’s most famous bridges?

The thing about this place is that it sits on U Lužického semináře, which is this narrow cobblestone street that feels almost secret – like you’ve stumbled into old Prague before all the tourist crowds figured it out. The building itself has that worn elegance you find in Lesser Town, where everything looks like it’s been there for centuries because, well, it probably has. It’s a solid 3-star spot, nothing fancy, but honestly the location does most of the heavy lifting here. You’re basically in the heart of Malá Strana, surrounded by baroque architecture and those impossibly narrow streets that Google Maps always seems to get confused about. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense once you realize you can literally hear the street musicians on Charles Bridge from some of the rooms – which is either charming or slightly annoying depending on your tolerance for accordion music at 10 PM.

What I really appreciate is how the place feels authentically Prague without trying too hard. The staff actually knows the neighborhood (ask them about the little wine bar tucked behind Kampa Island – they’ll point you in the right direction), and they’re pretty realistic about what to expect. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough, though don’t expect anything Instagram-worthy. The real magic happens when you step outside. You’re a two-minute walk from Kampa Park, where locals actually hang out, and you can duck into any number of traditional pubs that haven’t been completely overrun by tour groups yet. I mean, you’ll still encounter plenty of tourists – it’s Charles Bridge, after all – but there’s something about staying right in the thick of it that makes you feel less like an outsider. Plus, and this is crucial for anyone who’s ever tried to navigate Prague’s winding streets after a few Pilsners, you literally cannot get lost coming home. Just find the bridge, cross it, and you’re basically there.

Reviews of 20 seconds to Charles Bridge

  • Beautiful today in the heart of Prague ideal for short trip – Robin from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Duvet was half size

  • Perfect location – everything you need for a few nights in Prague – Ben from United Kingdom – 16 January 2025 (9/10)

The location was amazing – lovely street, description does not lie, literally 20 seconds to charles bridge, as well as there being lots of other things to do and explore right on the doorstep. It was very easy to collect the key with no issues. The flat was lovely and there was an extra bedroom which we weren't expecting, nice living room area and TV with Netflix account included, kitchen area with kettle and nespresso machine as well as cutlery. Heated flooring in the bathroom. Overall we had a great stay – thanks 🙂

What could be improved: The only issue was that one of the radiators didn't work and so in December the living area was quite cold. The radiator in the bedroom was working great though and the bedroom felt very cosy.

  • Not quite what I was expecting – Nancy from Hong Kong – 28 October 2024 (7/10)

Fabulous location! The lesser city is definitely the place to stay.
    Good heat
    Apartment is charming

What could be improved: Keys did not work well
Only one set of keys furnished
Not a 2-bdrm like you’d expect. The two bedrooms are connected by an open doorway, so any light or sound in one room is also in the other room. Plus, to get from rear bedroom to common areas you have to pass through the front bedroom
    Three flights up

  • Everything was as described, just be aware of stairs – Yvonne from United States – 7 August 2024 (8/10)

    There was no breakfast

What could be improved: I was not aware that we had to walk 4 flights of stairs
    No elevator

  • Excellent flat, well appointed in an excellent location. – Paul from Canada – 27 May 2024 (9/10)

Excellent proximity to everything we wanted to see and do.

What could be improved: Four flights of uneven stairs to walk up – this is understandable for the type of building and the area but could be an issue for people with mobility issues. Did not affect our enjoyment of the property.

  • Great location, but with 3 flights of steep stairs to get there. – Lubi from Australia – 22 September 2024 (8/10)

    Clean, fantastic bed, good location.

What could be improved: Steep stairs to get to the flat, no actual door between the bedrooms ( just a curtain). Not the place for two couples seeking some privacy.

  • Very good – Tatiana from Georgia – 20 August 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location! The property is quite small but cozy and nice.

What could be improved: The flat is on the top floor and has high stairs.

  • Fantastic apartment and great location – Thomas from United Kingdom – 21 July 2024 (9/10)

Great location and tidy, comfortable apartment with good facilities and enough space. Charles Bridge and other tourist attractions are only around the corner!

What could be improved: The only negative is the 3 steep staircases to get up to the apartment. May be an issue if someone isn’t very mobile and stays here.

  • Very good – Tomasz from United States – 5 May 2025 (8/10)

    Location, price, accomodations

What could be improved: The bed was too soft

  • Perfect choice for overnight stay – Oleksandra from Germany – 20 August 2024 (8/10)

The location was nice, I had struggles with how to get a key, but personal was nice and helped me quickly. it doesn't have a panoramic view to a river, but definitely has an unforgettable historical vibe!

What could be improved: it's really cozy inside, but sadly we was in middle of August, and it was hot there. Lucky for us there was a ventilator !No air-conditioning. 3d floor near of Karl's Bridge:)at the end of the day, after walking, it was difficult to get up to the apartment.
